Today, I had to compromise with an organized group that relies on us for steady income, a group of people I didn’t want to meet up with this soon.

The outcome was not what I was expecting but they’ve given us time to fix what Rizzo caused. I’ve already got people on the job because I couldn’t think about that right now.

Some pair of brown eyes keeps tormenting me even in my dreams. Little wonder why I can’t stop trailing after her like some love–sick teenager.

I felt homicidal to release this inner rage.

“Russo!” I bellowed out.

“Capo!”

He came running in. Russo has been a valuable addition to the gang ever since I took him from his father and he has quickly risen to be my right–hand man.

I just didn’t know how he was going to take what I was about to tell him. “I know where she is.”

Russo looked genuinely confused.

“Who?”

“Your sister,” I said calmly, gauging his reaction.

Russo has a certain look about him, hands and arms covered in tattoos, titanium hoops through his right nostrils, and dark black hair that’s slightly out of control but it scores him points with the ladies.

I never really noticed the resemblance until now.

“Alessia?”

He blinked once, then twice, definitely a third time.

“You got any other sister I don’t know about?” I asked sarcastically.

“H–how? Where? Where’s she? Why aren’t we going to get her? If she’s here then I can keep an eye on her. We can protect

her.”

Just like you kept an eye on her before she ran away, huh?

I thought to myself but chose to keep my thoughts to myself.

“We?” My eyebrows shot up in his direction as I released a cynical laugh.

“I can take care of what’s mine. I just wanted you to know because I’m a man of my word and you can go back to your father

now.”

I didn’t want to let him go as he has proved to be an invaluable asset to me but I wouldn’t be Leonardo De Luca if I don’t keep to my word.

Chapter 7

“Look, Capo.” Russo sat down on the sofa in front of me and pressed his elbows onto his knee.

My eyes narrow towards him. He must be disoriented because no one dares sit without my permission and Russo of all people knows this but I let it slide because of the gravity of the conversation.

“That’s the last fucking thing I want to do. I want to be here right by your side. I’ve come to respect you.” Russo continued and I was genuinely taken aback by his words.

“My sister may not know it yet but she needs our protection. She’s my blood. She’s my family.” He hits his chest with his hand.

I held his stare for a couple of moments and I’m pretty sure my gaze was filled with pride at his words.

“She’ll stay out of your business, I’ll make sure of that. Just tell me where she is and I’ll go get her.” He continued.

My fingers grazed down my stubble and I looked away from him. He sounded like he thought I had given up interest and the thought almost made me burst out in laughter. He might be her brother but no other man would dare lay even a finger on her as far as I’m concerned.

“I know where she lives and works and I have people trailing her every move. So trust me, she’s well protected. I want to take my time with this one.” I smiled, remembering the passionate night we both shared.

I’m not a patient man but there’s something about her that makes me want to take my time with her. Russo pushes up the chair.

“Whatever you say, boss. I’ll just go let my father know that you found her.”

I nodded my head absentmindedly as Russo walked backward toward the door. I couldn’t care less about any other member of her family. She’s mine now.

Alessia Guzman

Isabella stopped in front of my apartment complex. “Are you sure you don’t want to come stay with me for a few days?” She asked, turning in her seat to face me.

I nodded my head. “Yes, I’m sure. Enzo will soon be back. But thank you for the offer and thank you for spending the day with me, you’re the best!” I kissed her on the cheek and opened the door to leave.

I just wanted to lock myself in my apartment because I was getting fucking paranoid. Luckily, Isa didn’t pick up on my discomfort.

She laughed. “Thank you, I know. See you Monday?”

“Yeah sure, drive safe. Let me know when you’re home.” I returned her grin before shutting the door.

She waited until I was inside the apartment lobby before driving off. Immediately I got to my 1 apartment, I made sure to lock all the doors and windows.

I kicked off my shoes not caring where it landed. My coat was shrugged off my shoulders and hung on the rack. My hair was released from its tie and I did the dramatic shake of my head, groaning in relief.

Nothing felt better than going home and making yourself comfortable. But that comfort was proving to be fleeting because I was even more paranoid in my own home than anywhere else.

Even after making sure to remove every trace and reminder of him by burning the bedsheets and the clothes I was wearing that fateful night, the feeling of him is still ingrained in my mind.

Chapter 7

Fuck.

I took out my phone and texted my boyfriend Enzo.

Hey, you awake? Enzo is the kind of guy who likes to spend most of his nights out in clubs or with his friends so I’m pretty sure he was awake.

At the time I met him, I thought he was the most handsome man I had ever met with his cute smile that swept me off my feet. But that was until I met some dangerous pair of green eyes…

A few minutes went by and I decided to take off my makeup, shower, and change into some comfier clothes before he replied.

Yeah. I’m with a few friends right now though. Is it important? Oh, it’s just that I’ve been having a crappy few days and I need you here…

I don’t really know what you want me to do right now, Al, but I’ll be back tomorrow and I have a surprise for you so maybe that’ll cheer you up?

I understand. Excited for tomorrow. Goodnight love.

He doesn’t reply after that so I climb into bed instead. I know my mind should be fixed on my boyfriend and his surprise tomorrow but I can’t get the fact that I’m lying on the bed where I fucked a total stranger off my mind.
