Chapter 30
Previously, when Anthony forced Lindsey to deal with the greasy Mr. Wallace, she never showed her grievances. But with one hug from Shawn, all her facades shattered.
It had been ages since anyone cared for her like that. She had only met Shawn a few times. Sniffling in his arms, she stepped back. “It’s nothing. Everything’s sorted out now.”
Shawn looked down at her, his voice soft. “Alright, then let’s go!”
“Hold on, you can’t leave!” Sheila called out from behind
Shawn turned his head, looking at her with impatience. “What’s up?”
Sheila was confident at first, but when Shawn stared at her, she took a small step back. She clenched her teeth and stood firm. This is our family business. Why are you, an outsider, getting involved?”
Shawn found in amusing and asked. “And what exactly is your definition of an outsider, Ms. Jennings?”
“You’re just Lindsey’s boyfriend, not even married. So you’re an outsider, Sheila remarked as if it was the most obvious statement.
“So being unmarried makes one an outsider? Maybe you should look behind you, Ms. Jennings Shawn gestured with his chin, sarcasm on his face.
“My mom isn’t like you!” Sheila yelled.
“And how is she different? Isn’t she unmarried too! Shawn replied
Sheila was furious, increasingly annoyed by Shawn. Olivia looked upset and stayed silent, while Anthony, growing more agitated. lashed our at Lindsey
“Lindsey, look at the boyfriend you chose. He talks so rudely. Do you want this family to never find peace Anthony said.
Lindsey looked
up at him, suddenly finding it amusing. This family hasn’t been peaceful for a long time! Ever since Sheila and Olivia moved in, you’ve been nothing but a puppet!”
“Lindsey, how can you say that to Mr. Riley?” an unexpected voice interrupted. Lindsey frowned and turned to see Jayden approaching
Jayden thought. ‘Everyone’s here today He gave a slightly hostile look toward Slawn. Seeing them so close together, he couldn’t help but frown. Jayden thought. Is this Lindsey’s boyfriend! He looks like a pretty boy”
Before Jayden could step in as a hero, someone else had already done it, making him seem un
seem unnecessary.
After thinking for a moment, Jayden said, “Lindsey, ever since my mom met you, she hasn’t stopped mentioning you. Her birthday party is next week. You will come, right? Here’s an invitation, don’t forget. I pick you up that day.”
Shawn quietly moved Lindsey in front of him to protect her, watching Jayden cautiously,
“No need, I probably won’t have the time, Lindsey declined without hesitation. She didn’t want any ties with the Parker family anymore.
In her past life, Lindsey thought Jayden’s mom was excessively nice to Sheila, likely because she knew about their affair and was helping them keep it a secret from her. None of them were decent people
Jayden looked a bit upset and insisted again. “Lindsey, I know you’re still angry with me, but for my mom. She wants to meet you. Please!” Anthony was irritated by Lindsey’s attitude. “Jayden is lowering himself to invite you. That’s him showing you respect. Don’t be unappreciative People will say the Riley family lacks manners!”
Lindsey let out a cold laugh and sneered, “In your eyes, isn’t that exactly what I am ill–mannered?”
Anthony felt his blood pressure shoot up. He raised his hand, ready to slap Lindsey. “You just want to drive me crazy, don’t you?”
But the slap never happened because Anthony’s wrist was grabbed by someone–not just one, but two people. Shawn and Jayden’s eyes met, both displaying intense sparks.
However, it was obvious that Jayden was no match for Shawn’s strong presence and quickly conceded Jayden awkwardly touched his nose.
Jayden turned to Anthony instead and said, “Mr. Riley, let’s discuss this calmly. Violence doesn’t solve anything. I know Lindsey. She didn’t mean to make you upset.”

Chapter 30
Anthony grumbled, “You don’t need to speak for her. Lindsey has upset me countless times. I think she would be happy to see
y to see this family fall apart!”
Lindsey glanced at him and retorted, “Didn’t you already ruin this family with your own hands?” She turned to Shawn and said, “Let’s go!”

Jayden watched the two leave, with envy and malice almost overflowing from his eyes. But as he turned to face Anthony and the others, he quickly composed himself.
Shawn guided Lindsey upstairs and opened the door marked Premium Suite. The difference between the Premium Suite and the Regular Suite was astonishing.
The Regular Suite was like any other dining room in a restaurant–maybe just with a nicer ambiance. But the Premium Suite had a karaoke setup, a theater room, a relaxation lounge, and a swimming pool on the outdoor balcony. It was luxurious.
Shawn led Lindsey inside. Take a seat, I’ll get you a drink.”
Lindsey sat quietly, but her eyes couldn’t resist wandering around. She felt like she was experiencing something completely new again.
Shawn gave her a bottle of juice, carefully opening the cap and inserting a straw before handing it to her. “Feel free to look around; anything that you are interested in, go ahead and enjoy. No need to hold back.”
Lindsey nodded. While they were chatting, there was a sudden splash from the pool outside and several beads bobbed up, nearly making Lindsey jump up in surprise.
She stammered, “Are there other people here?” She had thought it was just her and Shawn
Shawn nodded. Twe got a few friends here.”
At that moment, the people in the pool started getting out. Seeing that Shawn had brought a girl, they curiously gathered around, Lindsey found herself surrounded by several muscular guys.
Lindsey wanted to hide her face, but her eyes wouldn’t cooperare, wandering everywhere. She couldn’t help it and was fangirling. There was no doubt she had a thing for the eye candy
Shawn’s face darkened as he shoord away the gawking crowd. “Go and put on your clothes! There’s a girl here. How can you be running around half–naked like this! Everyone teased him.
After pushing everyone into the changing room, Shawn finally sat next to Lindsey. Frowning, he asked her, “Do you like this kind of man?”
Chewing on her straw, Lindsey was at a loss. She thought, How am I supposed to answer that!”
Seeing her blush, Shawn thought he must have guessed right. He leaned in close to Lindsey’s ear with a mischievous grin and said, “I’m better” Lindsey jerked her head up with a puzzled look.
