Chapter 70
A statement even faster than Damon’s left Vincent and the others dumbfounded.
“Damen, is this… true?
Vincent turned to Damon, incredulous.
After all, Damon had clinched the world championship at such a young age and was hailed as a “genius racer” in the racing world. But now, they were being told that his daughter was faster than his son, the so–called prodigy. How could he not be shocked and doubtful
The Anderson family’s eyes quickly darted to Damon, awaiting his response.
Damon, with his prideful and face–conscious nature, would never allow Noelle to lie without consequences. But this time, he calmly took a sip of soup, glanced at his family, and admitted. “Noelle’s right. She is indeed faster than me.”
At his words, the Anderson family went silent, their expressions frozen in disbelief.
“Noelle, you’re impressive Eli said, his gaze toward Noelle filled with admiration.
Deep down, he was a little happy for her. After all, Damon and Noelle didn’t exactly get along, so for her to earn his approval meant she was really skilled behind the wheel. Surely, this would change her father’s opinion of her.
Kimberly, equally astonished and pleased, chimed in. “Noelle can drive a race car! But aren’t you just of legal age? Were you driving an illegal car
before!”

Vincent added. “Well, if Damon says so, Noelle, would you like to pursue a career in racing? If that’s what you want, I can buy you a race car.
Noelle, surprised by the strong reaction her driving had sparked, felt a mixture of joy and surprise. She looked at Damon, grateful that he had brought up the topic. Otherwise, things wouldn’t have taken such an unexpected turn
Damon, after admitting the truth, seemed to have washed his hands of the matter, continuing to
up his soup in silence.

as, as her mother had said, a tough nut on the outside but soft–hearted inside.
Later, Noelle declined the offer to pursue a racing career. Truthfully, she wasn’t all that interested in racing; she had only learned to drive to make her tasks easier Vincent didn’t press the matter but said that if she ever changed her mind, she could always turn to him for a car.
Time passed quickly. After two weeks of military training, Noelle was finally heading to school. But during her absence, the students had already formed their own little groups
During this time, two people had become particularly well–known: Harley and Leia
Leia was attractive and had a good personality, making her quite popular among the boys, Most importantly, everyone knew she was Eli’s sister. Since Eli was a prominent figure at the school, his sister naturally garnered attention and admiration from many.
As for Harley, he gained fame during military training for constantly challenging the instructors, hoping to earn some free time, just like Noelle had on her first day. Hut unlike Noelle, who easily defeated the instructors, Harley didn’t fare as well when he faced them. Still, his good looks and cool demeanor, along with his tall and athletic build, earned him the admiration of many girls
To top it off, rumors about Harley’s family background began to spread. Not only was he handsome and strong, but he was also from a prominent family. The girls went wild for him, and soon enough, he became the talk of the school, even overshadowing the student body president, EL Some of his most ardent fans even started a fan club in ha honor.
The day before Noelle returned to school, Harley sent her a message. It outlined which classroom she would be in and what subjects she would be taking Since Noelle had missed two weeks. Harley had taken care of her textbooks and would give them to her when she arrived.
Following the Instructions, Noelle entered the classroom and saw a number of students already seated. Among them was Leia
Drua had stayed at school during the military training and used the opportunity to make connections with the girls in her class. She casually found a seat, and soon a circle of girls gathered around her, chatting and laughing.
When Noelle saw Leja, the reinembered Nick’s advice to at least maintain appearances, so she waved at her.

“Leia, you’re already here?” Noelle greeted.
At her words, many eyes in the classroom shifted toward Noelle. Leia glanced at her, a flicker of something unknown crossing her eyes. She then smiled politely and nodded.
“Noelle, you’re here.”
“Mm
Noelle found a seat and sat down. Meanwhile, the girls sitting around Leia started whispering among themselves.
“Leia, why are you even acknowledging her?”
“Yeah, I’d just roll my eyes if I were you”
“Being classmates with someone like her is just bad luck.”
Leis heard the girls and, though satisfied, put on an act. “Okay, okay, I know you’re just looking out for me. But she’s right here, so stop talking
about it
Why not! Does she have the face to argue back!”
Leia, you’re too nice.”
Leia pretended to be helpless. “I know you mean well, but just don’t spread it around. It’ll cause trouble.”
“Don’t worry, we won’t.”
The girls thought they were whispering quietly, but Noelle’s sharp hearing caught every word.
After bearing their conversation, Noelle was left feeling confused. Was her reputation really that had among her classmates? Had she done
something so wrong?
Little did Noelle know, in these two weeks, she had gone from being the legitimate daughter of the Anderson family to being labeled the
illegitimate one.
The turning point came on the first day when Harley took Noelle and Leia out for pasta. Harley, so focused on Noelle, inadvertently ignored Leia, making Leia feel slighted and reduced to tears behind their backs. Eli, who happened to pass by, caught sight of Leia’s distress and, being fiercely protective of her, grew cold toward Noelle. This incident quickly spread among Eli’s circle of girls
From there, rumors about Noelle and her relationship with Leia and Eli began to swirl. Everyone knew Leia came from the Anderson family, but when Noelle was seen calling herself part of it, people began to wonder: Could Noelle be the Anderson family’s illegitimate daughter? After all, Eli’s cold attitude toward her seemed to suggest as much.
Soon, even more rumors began to surface about Noelle’s past, painting her as a lowly, illegitimate daughter with a questionable background, someone who had dropped out of school early and only gained access to Eston University thanks to the Anderson family pulling strings. This coupled with her behavior during military training, which many saw as disrespectful solidified her poor reputation.
Now, Noelle was seen as little more than a troublemaker with a tarnished past, and the whispers behind her back only grew louder.
However, not everyone dared to speak openly in front of Eli or Harley. As a result, neither of them was aware of the gossip brewing around Noelle.
Noelle could clearly feel herself being ostracized. All the other students were sitting in groups, while she was left all alone.
Her parents and Nick had all told her to make good relationships at school, but no one was even acknowledging her. How was she supposed to make friends if they ignored her!
