Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Luciana
I press my tongue against the inside of my cheek, tasting the bitter blood that leaks from the cut. Straightening up. I glance at Damien without a change in expression before wiping the comer of my mouth.
Damien narrows his eyes with killing intent and charges toward me, but Elara quickly steps between us, her arms outstretched to hold him back. His eyes widen in shock as his body halts just before it collides with hers. His fists clench at his sides, and he stares Elara with both confusion and fury flashing in his gaze.
“Move out of the way, little mate. I need to knock some sense into this idiot’s head,” Damien sneers, his deadly gaze fixed on me. “How dare you kidnap her, Luciant You promised not to cause trouble in my pack after we signed the treaty, and the first thing you do when you get here is kidnap

His eyes widen at my statement, and he opens his mouth to retort, and when no words come out, he clenches his jaw in frustration
“Ah, darn you, Lucian,” he finally growls in exasperation, sliver flashing in his eyes for a brief moment. “If you’re so desperate to die early, then let me grant your wish. I’ll kill you, you bastard!”
“Bring it on, idiot,” I say with a roll of my eyes, shrugging off my suit jacket and tossing it to the ground. Almost immediately, the air thickens with undeniable tension, and just as a fight is about to break out, an annoyed voice cuts through the atmosphere.
“Can’t you two do anything other than being at each other’s throat for once? Or at least don’t do it in front of me Elara huns before rolling her
“But..” Damien protests, his lips curling into a slight pour. “He kidnapped you, and I won’t let that slide. If I do, this bastard will think he can get away with anything. I have to leave him with at least a broken bone or two to make a point.”
I scoff at his words, raising an eyebrow. “Leave me with a broken bone or two? Get off your high horse, Damien, I will kill you before you do.”
“Don’t fight. Lucian didn’t kidnap me. I agreed to go with him, so..” Elara’s voice is soft. My gaze flickers to her, and for a moment, my heart softens at the sight of her defending me. But then she continues
“So don’t fight, because I’m wearing white right now, and there’s a lot of sand blowing around. I can’t risk getting dirty before work,” Elara says nonchalantly.
Damien’s brows furrow in confusion, and I nearly burst out laughing at her unexpected reasoning
“Fuck, wait,” she g gasps, spinning around to face me. She yanks my hand forward, her eyes darting to my watch as she checks the time. “11 a.m Damin it I’m late for work.”
Her gaze sharpens as she raises her chin and points an accusing finger at me. “This is all your fault. You said five minutes, and you took a whole thirty. Can’t you see the time has already passed?”
“Ah” I stanumer, nervously rubbing the back of my neck as I scramble to come up with some kind of excr

“Sorry, I didn’t notice-”
Excuse
“Of course, you wouldn’t notice, Lucian. You don’t notice anything unless it has to do with you. You always have to make things difficult for me, don’t you?” She scolds, her glare strong enough to make me want to back away slowly.
My eyes flickers to Darien, who is holding back his laughter as he watches Elara scold me. I shoot him a harsh look, but it only seems to amuse him more as he gives me a look that screams, “Serves you right”
“It’s not my fault,” I quickly reton, a mischievous glint in my eyes as I point to Damien. “It’s all his. I had exactly five minutes with you, but then he had to barge in and punch me. So, really, it’s entirely his fault.”
Damien’s jaw drops in shock, his eyes going wide as he stares at me. He blinks, the glare on his face intensifying as he narrows his eyes.

Chapter 52
“Lucian, you- His words trail off as Elara suddenly turns, shifting her focus onto him. I take the opportunity to breathe a sigh of relief.
“That’s true,” she says, her voice firm. I don’t care who you punch or not, but I’m late because of you. This morning too, because of you..” She catches herself a flush creeping up her neck as she realizes what she was about to say.
My eyes narrow at her, but Damien smirks, stepping closer to her. “Because of me, what? Tell me, liule mase, what exactly did I do?”
“I also want to know–what exactly did Damien do this morning?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. My voice is low as I struggle to keep my restraint in
check
“Nothing, he did nothing. You two should get away from me, I need to get to work now,” she snaps, but I can see the heat rising in her face.
“Okay, let me take you to work since you’re already late. I’ll drive you in my car. How’s that?” Damien suggests, glancing at me with a
a smirk
“Fine, but only because I’m already late,” she responds hesitantly after a moment.
“Good! Let’s go!” Damien chuckles, clearly pleased with himself.
“And Lucian, we still have some unfinished business between you and me. I’ll see you later”
I scoff at his words, picking up my suit from the ground and dusting it off. “Sure, whatever you say.”
Elara doesn’t move. Instead, she glances at me, her eyes searching for something in mine. She seems hesitant with her words, watching me with a worried expression, but in the blink of an eye, that look disappears, replaced by a cold, distant gaze.
“You should take care of yourself properly if you’re sick. Don’t come looking for me again.” With those words, she turns and leaves without looking
hack.
My hear squeezes painfully as her words have an effect on me.
“Wait, you’re sick?” Damien asks before shaking his head. “Why am I even asking! I don’t care what happens to you. You can die for all I care.” He spits those words out before striding off to join Elara.
I don’t know how long I’ve been standing there, staring at their retreating backs until they disappear from my sight. The silence is suffocating, my gaze empty, yet there’s a flicker of hope, a desperate wish that they’ll turn back. But they don’t
When I can no longer hold it in, my knees give way, and I collapse to the ground with a heavy thud. A sharp cough tears through me, and blood spills from my mouth as I clutch my chest, the pain shooting through me. My vision fades, blurring at the edges, and I groan, struggling to breathe. but no muller how hard I try, the air just won’t come.

“Alpha Lucian!” Elijah’s voice cuts through the fog, though it sounds distant, as if far away. His hands grip me, steadying me as he tries to bring me back to my senses.
“Alpha Lucian. Are you okay?” he asks, and I open my mouth to reply, but more blood spills from my mouth, and I groan, feeling my consciousness slip further away with each passing second.
“Take take me back to the Moonfang pack quietly… do not let anyone find out…” I cough out more blood. “Do not let anyone find out about this, especially Damien and Elara. They must not know”
With those words, everything fades to black
