“Look, oh my god! It’s Alpha Damien. Ecan’t believe I’m seeing him up close he’s so freaking handsome!”
“Wow, you’re right. It really is Alpha Damien. Ella

*Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming! Wait—hey! You bastard! You pinched way too hard?” the murmurs around me grow louder with each passing second and excitement buzz through the crowd that is gathered in front of the hospital
I was never someone who truly liked being in the spotlight, especially not in this particular spotlight so sitting there in Damien’s car while everyone gawked and whispered made me embarrasse
“Thank you for the ride. Now, please quickly drive away–you’re drawing way too much attention,” I whisper under my breath, practically jumping cut of the car and slamming the door shut behind me, ready to run through the crowd.
This was a terribile idea. Why on earth did I agree to let Damien follow me when I never wanted this kind of attention in the first place? The man is basically a magnet for it. With slangermasly good looks, an enviable personality, and a high–ranking title, it’s no wonder all eyes are on him.
Hefore I can slip away, Damien’s hand shoots out and grabs me, pulling me back until my body collides with his hard chest in a soft thud.
The entire crowd gasps in unison, their shock palpable, I blink rapidly, trying to process what just happened as another wave of murmurs and whispers ripples through the onlookers. Even the patients heading into the hospital have stopped to gawk. Forget them— even an unconscious man laying on a stretcher a second ago suddenly sits ups, joining in on the gossip with the stunned doctors wheeling him inside
“What do you think you’re doing? Let me go this instant, I hiss through clenched teeth, my eyes narrowing into a glare at Damien. But of course, that does nothing to him. Instead, Ins lips tiles up into a smug smirk, and he lowers his head to meet my gaze, his voice dripping with amusement.
“No goodbye kiss? Or even a thank you kiss for dropping you off? I think I deserve at least that. After all, you’d have been even later without me,”
I roll my eyes, sneering at his words. “You’re the reason I’m late in the first place, in case you’ve forgotten,” I snap, trying to pull away from his grip. But he doesn’t budge; instead, his hand slid around my waist, holding me firmly in place
I can almost feel the weight of the crowd’s Inarning stares, but one, in particular, sends a chilling shiver down my spine. There’s a seething, almost murderous intensity behind it. Who the hell is that?
I want to turn and meet the gaze of the person sending daggers into my back, but Damien’s hand reaches toward my face, making me inhale sharply as his fingers gently tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.
“But that’s Lucian’s fault, don’t you think?” he murmurs, his voice low and dangerous as he lean closer, breaking “If he hadn’t kidnapped you in the first place, you would’ve been here hours ago. So, I’d say I’ve earned that kiss.”
already little space between us.
My mouth opens and closes, trying to retort, but no words manage to escape. I know I shouldn’t let him affect me this way, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t ignore just how breathtaking he is. Damien isn’t just handsome–he’s devastatingly gorgeous, like an angel who has descended from the heavens. But deep down, I can’t help but wonder if he’s an angel… or Lucifer himself.
s smirk widens when he notices I am too by gawking at him to respond. He leans closer, his lips inching toward mine until I can feel the heat of his breath brushing against my skin. My breath hitch as I blink up at him, mesmerized by how the sunlight kissed his features, making him look almost unreal. In that moment, the world seemes to narrow to just the two of us, everything else fading into the background.
“Damien‘
But then, like a flick of a switch, the spell breaks. The moment shutters as Martha storms onto the scene, grabbing Damien by the hair with a grip so night it could probably stops a raging bull.
His eyes instantly widen in horror, and he jerks away from me, stumbling backward as Martha yanks on his hair. The crowd gasps in unison, watching the sense unfold in stunted silence, the whispers growing louder by the second.
“Who dares lay hand on the Alpha! Do you want to
“Damien’s yell is cut off as Martha hisses,
“I dare you, Damien! Are you going to kill me?” Martha spits, her voice dripping with fury.
“M–Manha?
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Martha snarls, pulling on his hair with such force that Damien lets out a sharp yelp

to pry her hand away while glaring at her.
“Martha, let go! What are you doing he growls, his composure slipping as he swat at her hand.
“I should be asking you that?” she snaps, still clutching his hair with no intention of letting go. “You’re out here bullying Elara when she told you to clearly let her go! Do you have no shame, that isn’t how I trained you to treat a woman!”
“What Why would you think I would bully my mate? That’s ridiculous! Let me go this instant, Martha!” Damien snaps, his lips curling into a sneer as he tries to regain his composure.
I stand frozen, my eye twitching at the absurdity of the scene unfolding before me. This… this was something else entirely. The once–mighty Alpha Damien, reduced to whining as Martha drags him away by his hair like a misbehaving puppy. It’s a sight I never imagined I’d witness in my lifetime.
I open my mouth intending to speak but a voice cries out, and I turn to see Dr. Gregory running toward the scene, his face a mixture of shock and panic. “Oh my goddess, Alpha Damien! Manila, let him go this instant!” But before he can reach them, his foot catches on something, and he humbles forward, Landing face–first on the ground with a loud thud,
The doctors nearby immediately rush to help the fallen Gregory, but he jumps to his feet, pushing his glasses higher before wiping the blood
“Martha, please let go of the alpha. You cannot do this in public; everyone is watching, and this is a hospital,” Gregory pleads. Martha rolls her eyes, hurting in imitation before releasing Damien’s hair, shooting him a glare.
“Bastard” Martha hisses under her breath, causing Damien to roll his eyes dramatically at her back as he fixes his hair.
“A–alpha, please pardon Martha, I apologize for the disrespect, Gregory quickly apologizes to Damien, who waves his hand nonchalantly, as if he’s used to this behavior.
“Are
you okay? Was he the reason you were later Martha asks, walking over to me. I briefly consider saying yes, just to see how Martha would react to Damien, but I shake my head.
“No, he’s not the reason. I’m sorry for being
ng late. It won’t happen again.” I say with a small smile, and she shakes her head.
“It’s fine. I’m sure he had something to do with it, one way or another,” she replies, glaring at Damien as he finishes talking to Gregory.
Well, technically.
“Well, that was dramatic,” Damien smiles, opening his car door before fixing his amused gaze on me.
“Have a great day, little mate. I’ll pick you up when you’re done with work. Don’t miss me too much,” he says with a wink before driving off, not waiting for a reply.
