The Power Shift
Ryan stared at the headline on his screen, his jaw tightening
with every word. “Stone Enterprises Expands, Acquires
Major Shares in Lancaster Industries.”
Elena’s face was featured right beside the headline, looking
every bit the powerhouse she had become. He clenched his
fists. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
He had assumed she would fall apart without him, that she
would come crawling back, begging for another chance.
Instead, she had thrived. More than that—she had come for
everything he had built.
Patricia walked into the office, her lips pursed in frustration.
“This is unacceptable, Ryan. How could you let this
happen?”
“Let this happen?” Ryan scoffed. “She’s more cunning than
I gave her credit for. But I won’t let her win.”
Patricia crossed her arms. “Then do something about it. Fight
back. If she wants war, give her one.”
Ryan exhaled sharply, his mind already working through his
next move. This wasn’t over. Not by a long shot..
