Chapter 7
I felt like I had been unconscious for a long time. I found myself back in my original world, lying on a cold hospital bed. The scars that once covered my body were gone.
I remembered my sister’s desperate cry before I left. “Ryan, don’t worry. I’ll save you at all costs.”
I had always relied on my sister since childhood. Shortly after she got married, I fell gravely ill. To avoid burdening her, I agreed to the system’s request and went to that other world to win the heroines over.
Finally, I was back. But when I tried to find my sister, she was nowhere to be seen. The world seemed empty, leaving me alone.
Panicking, I screamed but suddenly woke up, only to find myself back in Violet’s hospital.
Violet was dozing by my bed. She was startled by my screams. “Ryan, you’re awake?”
I lost it, breaking down instantly. “Why? Why am I still here? I want to go home. I only want to go home! System, come out! Why am I still here?”
Violet was taken aback. “What’s wrong with you? Are you out of your mind?” Afraid I might lose control, she forcefully administered an
unknown liquid through an injection. “Dylan was right. You’ve gone mad.” He
I calmed down, becoming still and staring blankly at her. For a moment, I felt a surge of panic. I could think, see, and hear, but I couldn’t move. I wondered what she was going to do to me.
Violet helped me into a wheelchair and wheeled me out of the ward. Everyone was waiting outside.
Dylan, dressed in a white lab coat, smiled as he took the wheelchair from Violet’s hands.
Luna looked at me coldly. “We thought you had finally come to your senses, but it turns out you’ve gone mad. Dylan is the director of Northwood Mental Hospital. Since you’re insane, you should be treated. Death won’t cleanse your sins. You should live in agony and atone for
him.”
Eliana sighed, her voice dripping with resignation as she said, “Ryan, how can you be so selfish? If you die, I will break my promise to Dylan. After you are cured, you must come home and live with me.”
Bella frowned. “Ryan… Brother, for my sake, please stay calm for a while. After Dylan gets married, you can do whatever you want.”
Dylan gave me a mocking smile and wheeled me into the ambulance. He turned to them and said, “Alright, go back and prepare my wedding. I’ll take good care of Ryan. Love you all.”
Hearing this, they immediately set off with bright smiles to prepare for the wedding.
Dylan brought me to the mental hospital. Everywhere, people wandered in a daze, their minds lost.
Because of the injection Violet had just given me, I couldn’t control my body. All I could do was watch as Dylan instructed a few burly attendants to take me to a basement.
The place reeked of blood, with severed limbs hanging on the walls. Jars on shelves contained still–beating organs.
This wasn’t a mental hospital. It was more like an underground black market for harvesting organs from living people.
Dylan sneered and waved his hand. “Soak him in the alcohol bath to disinfect him.”
The attendants immediately pinned me down in the bathtub. Instantly, a burning pain spread throughout my body. I couldn’t help but scream.
Dylan slapped me hard. “Shut up. I hate people like you who come from other worlds and mess with others‘ destinies.”
