My friend Katlin sat by the window, her eyes full of guilt as she explained, “Margret, it’s all my fault. I thought you two were just having a fight. I had no idea… Marlon took my phone. I didn’t know anything.”
I smiled bitterly and asked instead, “Where’s Jake? Is he okay?“}
