“Is it okay?” Dominic’s voice was hoarse.
He gave me a brief kiss but didn’t continue. He didn’t let go of me either, his eyes burning with intensity as they locked onto mine.
My heart raced.
It was our wedding night, nothing to be shy about, so I stretched out my arm. As soon os! hooked it around his neck, he scooped me up and strode upstairs.
“Charlotte, Charlotte, my darling. Charlotto Clark? Doesn’t matter who you are, I love you. I
will only love you in this life.
Dominic’s words wore as sweet as honey.
His sweet nothings didn’t stop, and he didn’t waste our precious night, continuing until the
morning light.
I thought, “How did I feel? Well, let’s just say Jaxon was like a bloated toothpick, while Dominic reminded me of a mighty ancient dragon.”
He wore me out completely, leaving me soft and limp. I didn’t wake up until 7 pm.
“Dominic?”
I smelled something delicious wafting from downstairs.
As I awkwardly stopped out of the bedroom, I saw my glant dragon of a husband making soup in the open kitchen downstairs.
He wasn’t wearing a shirt.
His tall, muscular frame was clad in an apron with a yellow duck on it.
My eyes were immediately drawn to the sight.
I thought, “Wow, those muscles, the intoxicating scent of raw masculinity… It was almost too
much to handle.”
The scene was so eye–catching that I quickly grabbed my phone to snap a picture. But
before I could, I noticed Madison’s latest post on instagram.
She posted it this morning.
She’d already registered her marriage with Jaxon and was now officially his wife.
Probably noticing I hadn’t liked or commented on her post by the time evening came around,
Madison sent me a screenshot of it, along with two voice messages.
The first one played, Madison’s voice dripping with smugness. “Charlotte, you must’ve seen
by now that Jaxon and I are officially married. The man who adored you in your past life is now mine. Doesn’t it make you want to cry? Too bad it’s too late now. By the way, did you and that

The voice message ended, and I saw a photo of Dominic at the club, drinking with a
seductive woman sitting on his lap. I could tell right away it was photoshopped.
Madison probably thought I’d be devastated. She sent another voice message. “Oh,
Charlotte, Dominic would rather sleep with some prostitute than touch you. If I were you, I
wouldn’t even be able to face anyone.”
Her intentions were clear. She wanted me to feel just like she had in her past life, broken and
devastated, eventually driven to depression and suicide.
I thought, “Did she think I was that stupid? Did she think she was the only one who got a
second chance at life?”
I scoffed
I quickly took a screenshot of the messages, planning to use it as evidence to accuse Madison of defamation. But just then, someone reached over his strong arm and grabbed my
phone.
“What’s my baby looking at so intently?” Dominic’s voice came from beside me, and I didn’t
even realize he’d approached.
He had already removed his apron but was still shirtless. He pulled me into his arms.
My lips had already swollen from last night’s kisses, but now, he was about to kiss me again. I
tried to avoid him, which clearly displeased Dominic.
him.
He hadn’t intended to look at my phone, but now, seeing me upset, he couldn’t help himself.
“Baby, it’s not what you think…” Dominic started to explain quickly when he saw the photo.
I just stared at him in silence.
He grew anxious and immediately called up three of his friends, asking them to vouch for
I couldn’t help myself and sarcastically said, “Of course they’re your friends. They’ll definitely back you up and lie for you.”
Dominic froze for a moment. “Then we’ll check the surveillance footage. If there’s no footage, I’ll go ask her directly!”
Staring at the man in front of me, his chest heaving in anger, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
口
“You’re such a fool. My second brother, Ryan Marshall, is a computer genius. Do you think i
wouldn’t be able to tell this is fake?”
Hearing this, Dominic sighed in relief.
Hearing this, Dominic sighed in relief.
“You troublemaker, trying to mess with me, huh?” Over the next while, Dominic made sure
know exactly what his idea of a punishment was
Dinner turned into a late–night snack instead.
Seeing my shy and somewhat weak reaction, Dominic held back a smille. “Baby, come on,
open your mouth. Let me feed you.”
I shot him an annoyed look, and he leaned in, giving me a kiss.
In the end, I let him spoil me, with no energy left to argue.
Dominic, sensing my mood, grinned. “Babe, say honey. Let me hear it.”
My cheeks turned red again.
To be honest, I still wasn’t fully used to my life after being reborn. Memories from my past life
would occasionally flash through my mind. When something like that happened, my brain would go completely blank.
Now, though, I was clear–headed..
The man in front of me was my sister’s husband from my past life, and now, he was looking
at me with deep affection, asking me to call him honey.
He was never wearing a shirt.
I couldn’t bring myself to say it.
My shy and embarrassed look only stirred up more of Dominic’s desires.
But he knew I was still new to everything and couldn’t push me too hard. He went into the
bathroom and took a long, cold shower to calm himself down.
“Honey,” I said, almost without thinking.
I swear, it wasn’t intentional. While he was in the shower, I’d been brewing the courage to say
it for a while before finally getting it out.
Dominic’s eyes lightened up, his intentions becoming obvious.
I thought, “Was this how men who just started getting what they wanted behaved?”
I grabbed a pillow and held it in front of me. “Go to the guest room tonight. If not, I’ll ignore you
from now on.”
If he stayed next to me again, I was pretty sure I’d lose it.
Dominic looked frustrated but didn’t argue.
In the end, seeing how exhausted I was and how dark the circles under my eyes had
become, he kissed me a few more times, still reluctant, before heading to the guest room.
It wasn’t long before Sarah called for a video chat.
I was still half asleep.
I almost put it on silent but ended up accidentally answering.
Sarah saw that I was alone in bed and immediately scolded me for not being as good a Madison at handling mon, saying that I couldn’t even keep my own man in check.
When I didn’t respond, Sarah got annoyed.

“Come home tomorrow. I don’t care how you do it, but you have to get Dominic to come back with you.”
The call ended abruptly.
I looked down at the marks on my skin, remembering Dominic’s lingering gaze as he left last
night.
If they thought I was going to be lonely in an empty bed, then so be it.
After washing up, I opened the door and saw Dominic standing in the hallway, looking like a neglected whiner.
“Baby, you finally opened the door. Let hubby give you a hug and a kiss. The guest room has mosquitoes. Can I skip it tonight and stay with you?” Dominic, for the sake of a good night, was now begging me like a boy.
He was usually such a tough guy, but now he was pitifully playing the victim.
The contrast was too much for me.
“Fine,” I said.
No sooner had I spoken than Dominic pulled out a yellow envelope from behind him.
It was full of transfer agreements.
All I had to do was sign, and everything under his name would become mine.
*Baby, sign here first, then we can get the marriage certificate. That way, everything, including the material things and me, will be your pre–marital property. You can’t say no!”
His words were way too smooth, like a charming playboy.
He was talking about sweet things, but at the same time, forcing me to sign. If I didn’t, he
punish me immediately.
After a night of rest, I was still sore.
I quickly begged, “Okay, okay, I’ll sign. Is that enough?”
As I was signing the transfer agreement, I heard my husband’s parents were visiting.
I knew all too well how much Dominic’s parents hated Madison in my past life. I instinctively held my breath.
