His expression hardened as he stared at me, and then he turned and looked down at the man he just punched.
The body lay motionless, his blood already flowing out onto the ground. The other two men were still out there, but for now, there was silence between us ⠀
I stood frozen, my eyes locked on him. He looked different, his face was pale, and his hair was longer than when I remembered. But he still looked exactly like the man I used to love

He led me deeper into the woods, walking slowly so we wouldn’t make any noise. The other men would get here soon. We had just few minutes to get out of here before they caught up with us.
“James.” I said I was a litle confused but he cut me off, “Where have you been, how are you here?”
“Not now,” he snapped. “We need to just keep moving, the men are close.”
We pushed forward until they reached a clearing it was a bit dark but I could see he had a motorcycle parked close to the trees. He let go of my wrist and pulled out a spare helmet from the seat!

I took a step back, eyeing the machine. “James, please. Tell me what’s going on. Why are you here, what happened that day?”
He swallowed hard, his eyes watching the trees for the men
But I was desperate, I needed to know the whole truth, I need to know everything about the day I married Cain and the day I thought he abandoned me alone at the altar
He held the helmet tight still watching the trees. “Because Cain took everything from me. And I’m going to destroy him”
“What do you mean?” I asked with a deep frown.”

He clenched his fists, his eyes darkening with anger.
“The morning of the wedding. I got a strange call from an unknown number. Someone told me were on your way to the church” He said

My mind was reeling, did Cain do all this, drug and kidnap James just to keep him from coming to his wedding?

I narrowed my eyes, I didn’t know if i could believe him after everything. It’s been a whole year and he didn’t even look for me or try to tell me the truth.
He took a step towards me. “You think I left you at the altar, Elle? I loved you and I still love you, I would have died before doing that to you. But Cain made sure I disappeared.”
I shook my head. “No.. no, that’s not possible. If you were taken, why didn’t you come for me after why didn’t you tell me the truth?”
