He slammed his fists hard against the desk, almost shattering it, the sound echoing through his office.
His jaw was clenched so tightly it was aching, and his entire body filled with rage like he wanted to explode.
Elle was gone, she just vanished into thin air

He ran a hand through his hair, trying to think. She must have been angry and betrayed when she found out about the pills!!

A knock echoed through the office and before he could respond, Aliya stormed; her face was pale, and there was a bandage wrapped around her forehead. She walked with a slight limp, wincing as she crumbled into the office couch

She sighed, “I got into an accident… I was on my way to check on Elle, and my car lost control,” she said.
He watched her. Something about her tone seemed off, like she was hiding something but he was too distracted about Elle to press her for the truth
“So Elle is still missing.”
Aliya gasped. “Yes but how was she able to just disappear?”
“That’s what I’d like to know.” He answered “She is alone. She had nowhere to go–no money, no contacts. But someone must have helped her to get out”
Aliya shifted in her seat. “Maybe… maybe she ran on her own?“}
Cain shook his head. “She wouldn’t have gotten far. Not alone. And now the damn company is in chaos.”
Aliya looked up. “What do you mean?“%
“The board is furious. Investors are pulling back because of Elle’s disappearance in the meeting. The CEO transition isn’t already official without her endorsement backing me since she’s still the main shareholder and the only daughter of Marcmillan King”
Aliya frowned. “But.. you made sure she signed the document to make you the CEO of the company
“Yes, but it’s not enough!” Cain snapped, pacing the room. “They’re questioning me and the document, especially now that Elle is gone. Some are even demanding to have a new election. If I can’t prove control over King Corporation, I could lose everything.
Aliya’s expression darkened. “You mean we could lose everything? Don’t forget that this plan is also mine, I made sure you married my sister and got this company.”

“Cain, you’re being paranoid. I’ve done everything–all this planning for so long–just for us to have control over the company,”
“No.” He shook his head. “You did everything for yourself and your greed.”

Because he knew deep down that she was far more dangerous than he ever realized.X
And if Elle had truly escaped, it was all more confusing and he just lost the only thing keeping him from keeping the company “Elle is a bitch and she deserves everything that happened to her; don’t let her come between us.” She whined.!!
