The boardroom was suffocating with silence as Cain walked in. He shut the door behind him and faced the stakeholders. They were all staring at him with cold angry looks, grunting as they went over the latest financial reports of the company.
Cain adjusted his tie, trying his best to stay composed, but his palms were becoming sweaty.!!
After a minute of silence, the largest shareholder leaned back in his chair and looked up at him.X
“Mr Blackwood, I’ve been very patient with you. We’ve all been patient. His eyes locked onto Cain. “But this?” He tapped the reports. “This is an absolute disaster.”
“We have gone through some rough times in the company but we are recovering.” Cain said quickly. “There were a few setbacks, but i have a very good plan to bring us back.”
“A plan?” Another investor echoed. “Your so–called plan has lost us billions of dollars. We believed in this company because Elle Blackwood was set to be the next CEO after her father’s death. But this is a disappointment!”
Cain clenched his fists. “The market is very unstable, but I promise…
“Don’t insult us with excuses.” One of the oldest investors snapped. “King Corporation was perfect under the family’s leadership. Since you took over, we’ve seen only a loss in our profit. We are starting to question your ability to lead this company.”
“This company is still mine.” Cain shouted, rising with anger!
“No, Mr. Blackwood, it’s ours. And we can’t let you run it into the ground.”
Cain slammed his fist against the desk as he got into his office.
“Sir, the board is still demanding answers,” his assistant said.§

The assistant nodded and left the office.
Cain buried his face in his hands.
Everything was falling apart.
King Corporation was on the verge of collapse. Stock prices had dropped the moment news leaked that Elie had gone missing. He thought about Elle and how she ran the company like it was easy!
He stole everything from her. And now, without her.
He had nothing
Cain stormed into his mansion, slamming the door so hard the windows shook
Aliya was lying on the couch, sipping red wine and flipping through a magazine, she didn’t even look up when I walked in.3
“Relax Cain,” she muttered.
He didn’t respond. He grabbed the magazine out of her hands and threw it across the room.
Her eyes were dark as she looked up at him in anger. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
“We’re ruined.”
“Stop being so dramatic “X
He laughed. “Dramatic? The company is collapsing, Aliyal Investors are leaving us! The board is turning against me! And you are just sitting here and enjoying your life.“8
She rolled her eyes and stood up to face him. “Oh, please, just stop acting like a child. How is this my fault?“?
He took a step closer. “It is all your fault. I did everything you told me to. I married Elle. I tricked her. I signed those documents. And now? Now I have to sell the company just to survive!“}
Aliya froze. “You’re selling King Corporation?”
“I have to!” Cain shouted. “Or I lose everything!“\
She stared at him for a long moment.
“You’re so weak ”
His eyes widened. “What did you just say to me!?”
“You let Elle slip away. You are letting the company crumble. And now you’re blaming me?”
Cain’s hands were shaking with anger. “You manipulated me to do all this.”
“And you let me.” She replied with a deadly smile
For the first time in years. He saw the dark side of her!!
He loved Aliya for years even when she didn’t glance at him. He worked hard to become a rich businessman so he could deserve her but it was never enough!
She kept pushing me till he left my company to help her steal her stepfather’s company and kill him!
But he saw that she was just a poisonous snake.And all this while he was too blind to notice

I sat in James‘ penthouse, staring at the laptop screen.
It had taken hours of digging, and paying off a private investigator but I finally found something.
James leaned over my shoulder, also watching the video.
“Are you sure about this?”
I nodded. “Aliya didn’t just try to kidnap me. She’s been involved in far worse.”
I played the clip again, it showed Aliya meeting with a man in a black suit, one of my father’s former doctors
“That’s the doctor who handled my father’s medication.”
I watched as Aliya spoke to the man for a while before she handed him a thick wad of bills and also the pills.3
James watched quietly, “Do you think this will be enough to bring them down?
“Yes.” I replied. “This will be enough.“%
