I stood by the large glass windows of my father’s office, watching the sun set slowly with a smile.
I took in a deep breath, feeling better than I had in months. I was now the rightful owner of King Corporation, just as it was meant to
I already met with the stakeholders and made negotiations about the company. I assured them everything was going to get back to normal, just like it was before my father died.
The shareholders were happy I was back as the CEO and loved my leadership.
I have done it. The company was back in my hands
My phone rang in her pocket, and I pulled it out and smiled when I saw James‘ name on the screen.
“Hey,” answered
“Hey Elle.” James said. “How was your day as the CEO?”
I left it in a deep breath “It was huge. But it’s over now And I won
“I never doubted you,” he whispered back.
“How about we celebrate?Dinner back at the penthouse? Just us.”
My smile became wider, “I would love to have dinner with you”
“Good. I’ll cook your favourite food. Just hurry back home”
“I will,” I promised. “See you soon.”
I ended the phone, and the smile still lingered on my face. It finally felt like things were finally falling into place.
I grabbed my purse and my coat, ready to leave the office. I nodded to the few employees still in the office last as I walked past them. I went down to the parking lot as usual!
Tunlocked my car, dropped my purse and slid into the driver’s seat. Just as I reached for the seatbelt, a figure appeared in front of me and I felt sharp objects hit me hard in the head.

I felt my blood nun down my cheek. My head was banging and my body ached. I tried to but my body was tied down to a chair
I blinked as I opened my eyes, blinking against the harsh light. The air was thick with the smell of gasoline and the room was filled

I pulled hard against my wrists tied behind my back, but the ropes were tight and rubbing into her skin. I fought hard not to panic and remain calm
I took a deep breath, scanning my surroundings for a way to escape!
Then, I heard the sound of heels clicking against the concrete through the halls
I turned my head slowly, squinting my eyes against the dim light and then I saw Aliya.
She was dressed in a red dress, her lips painted the same colour. Aliya walked in with a deadly smirk, swaying her hips like she was walking a fashion show
I could see amusement in her eyes as she got closer, she was happy to see me like this.
“Well, well,” she purred, leaning down. “Look who is tied up and at my mercy.”
I glared up at her, trying to shake myself free from the ropes. should have arrested you when you were at the office.”%
“Oh, darling, you should have, but now I have control and you’re going to pay for humiliating me“]
“You were humiliated because of your greed. And now you want to be punished for that?”
Her smile dropped and then she grabbed my face tightly “You little bitch?” she raged. “I should have finished you off the last time. Do you remember, Elle? Do you remember how it felt when I pushed you down those stairs and you lost your baby?”
My stomach twisted, and the memory of the pin and blood all came back.
Aliya laughed. “You should have died with your child that night.”
My heart was pounding but I managed to remain calm. “And yet, your plan did not work.”
Her expression darkened, she mised her hands and slapped me hard across the face.
“Let’s see how long you will survive this,” she sneered. “Because this time, I won’t let you go and James isn’t here to save you anymore.”
“You can’t win.”
“I would make sure you lose everything again.”
I was staring at her as I heard another pair of footsteps in the hallway and then Cain appeared in the doorway 2
My stomach dropped as I saw him. He was involved in this too.

“Aliya, what are you doing?” Cain asked, his brows raised.
