She wolf rejected her fate Ch 10

Chapter 10

I stood by the shore, watching the big, dark ship float on the water. It looked like magic, so shiny and cool under the moon. I smiled because I knew it was special.D

I couldn’t help but admire it. The ship was a marvel- not just for its design, but for its purpose

Isn’t it great?I said to the wolf standing behind me. He was big and strong, his blue eyes glowing in the night

The wolf gave a small, proud grin. It’s not just great, my lady. It’s clever. Jareth’s ship. It hides from every wolf

Hides? From every wolf? I thought Jareth was only words. It better be trueI asked, looking closer at the ship. How?”

You doubted Jareth?He asked

You know, Jareth wasn’t lying,I said softly, watching the ship sail farther away. This is brilliant”

The wolf snorted, his voice deep and resonant, not like any ordinary woll. There was something ancient about the way he spoke. You think so? It took an Alpha’s ingenuity to make it work. Not all wolves would have thought of a ship as a refuge.”

An untraceable refuge,I added, turning to him with a wry smile. That’s the part that impressed me. Jareth really went all out

The wolf’s blue eyes glowed with something akin to pride. Of course. He always thinks ahead. This ship is not just any ship, my lady. It’s a ship of the wild rivers, hidden in the uncharted territories where no pack dares venture. Fully stocked with provisions. enchanted to evade detection. Once you set sail, no wolfAlpha, Beta, or roguewill be able to find you”

Jareth’s exact wordsI nodded

I tilted my head, fascinated by his words. How does it work? I mean, how does it evade detection? Surely there’s no magic strong enough to hide it from every wall”

Oh, there’s magic, alright. But not the kind you’re thinking of the wolf said with a knowing gleam in his eye

It’s a blend of oldworld magic and the newest, most.. unconventional enchantments. Jareth isn’t just hiding it from the wolves, he’s hiding it from the very land itself. The ship’s hull is coated with a mixture of Riverstone and Ghostwood. Makes it undetectable by any wolf, no matter how strong their senses are. And that’s not all. It’s enchanted with a bit of shadow magic, too. The ship, as long as it stays in motion, will appear to bewell, nothing. Like it’s not even there.”

Igasped. Wow! It can’t even be smelled by wolves?”

Nope, in simpler words the wolf said, his tail swishing, Jareth added something extrashadow magic. So, the ship is likeit’s there, but it’s not. The wolves can’t see it. It’s like a secret, hidden from the world”

I stared at the ship, completely blown away. So, it’s like it’s gone?”

Yes, but it’s still there, the wolf said. It’s just, hiding. It’s like it’s in a different world. As long as the ship keeps moving, no wolf can find it.

I looked at the wolf, still in shock. I didn’t know magic could do all that.

The wolf nodded. Magic can do a lot of things if you know how. Jareth’s smart. He thought of everything. But remember, it’s only safe for now. No magic lasts forever.”

I felt a little nervous. You think wolves will find it later?”

By that time, you would have reached the land of no return, dear one”

Then the wolf concentrated on the ship while my mind wandered

I stood by the water, the moon shining down on me. I took everything I had from him, the things that were supposed to connect us. His ring, the necklace, everything that tied me to him. I threw it all into the sea, one piece after another. The water swallowed them up, and I smiled

Why hadn’t. I run away sooner? I kept asking myself. I should’ve left when I first saw the lies, when I first knew I wasn’t his only one The ship was far now, and I could almost hear them calling for me. Damon would start looking for me soon. He would panic, and Lilith, too, she’d start running around trying to find me wanting to blame me yet again They didn’t know where I was, and they wouldn’t know for a while!!

I laughed softly to myself

Let them look. Let them run,I whispered, feeling free. Tm done with all this.”

A breeze blew by, and I turned away from the sea. The world felt lighter, like I could finally breathe again

I knew they’d find out soon. They’d start shouting my name, running this way and that, not knowing where I’d gone. But I wasn’t coming back. I didn’t belong in their world anymore

I smiled, the kind of smile that said it all

The howl of the wind outside echoed through the room in the ship, pulling me from my restless sleep. It wasn’t the sound of the wind, though it was the call. The call of the pack. Alpha’s pack. The voice of his mother rang loud in my ears, even in my sleep

Damon! Where is she? The ceremony is about to start. I can’t reach Lyria! Her words were laced with panic, calling out to him like a wolf howling for its mate

This pup is really ungrateful. Very. Despite the love, she failed to see it.”

I squeezed my eyes shut, burying my face in the soft pillow that came with sailing this ship, trying to block out the sound. But the voices wouldn’t stop. I could hear their concem, their confusion, all wrapped up in the tension of the moment

I heard Damon’s voice next, soft and calm as he tried to reassure her. It’s fine, Mom. Don’t worry. I’ll get her. She’s just-He paused, a moment of doubt creeping into his tone. “I’ll call her again.

2:22 PM

But as he spoke, another voice entered my mindLilith. Her presence felt close, almost tangible, like a shadow in this big room.

Damon, she murmured, her voice sweet but laced with something else. Will you still love me after you mate with my sister?”

Lyria doesn’t deserve you. You are just doing her a favour

Her words hit me hard, and I couldn’t help but hear the quiet plea in her voice, the desperation she must have felt. I knew she was trying to be seductive, trying to keep Damon’s attention, but it only made my heart twist in disgust

She couldn’t even wait for the surpriseMy wolf growled

Damon’s voice was low and affectionate as he responded. Of course, Lilith. Everything I’m doing is for you.His words should have comforted me, but they felt empty. Cold

I could hear their movements, the rustle of sheets as they shifted in

wanted to lash out at him. But I couldn’t. I was too far away

bed, the sound of Damon pulling her closer. I wanted to scream.

Even if I wasn’t far away, it still wouldn’t have changed a thing. They did it multiple times under my nose

I stayed still, my mind whirling with the weight of it all. I didn’t belong in that life anymore. Not with Damon, not with his pack. I was just a tool to them, something to be used and thrash

And in that moment, I knew. I was done

The tension was heavy around me as I sat on the edge of the bed, my hands gripping the sheets. I could still hear their voices, their words, ringing in my mind. But something else was gnawing at me something darker, something primal

he wolf inside me stirred, not accepting the thoughts of Damon and Lilith filling my mind. My skin prickled, and my heart beat

as I heard Damon’s call once more

Lyra, where are you? Please, answer me
