Chapter 27%
“Race?” I asked, but before I could say more, she took off running.
My wolf didn’t even wait for me. She jumped forward, taking control. My paws hit the ground hard, and the wind rushed past me. “Lyria! You didn’t even wait for me!” Rudina shouted, laughing behind me.
“You said race!” I barked back, picking up speed.
She caught up quickly, her dark wolf beside me. “Cheater!”
“You snooze, you lose!” I teased, leaping over a log.
We ran through the meadow, our wolves wild and happy. For the first time in forever, I felt… free.
Rudina howled, leaping beside me. “This is so much fun
I didn’t answer, just let my wolf run faster. The trees blurred, the grass felt soft under my paws, and the sun warmed my fur.
When we finally stopped at the edge of the meadow, we both shifted back, panting hard.
“You’re fast,” she said, flopping onto the grass.
“It’s been a while Lyca ran that’s why I blurted.
“That’s bad, she should run more often, I admire her “She smiled.
I smirked. “You’re not bad yourself.
She laughed. lying flat on her back. “You’re fun, Lyria. I didn’t think you’d be fun.”
I sat beside her. “Why? Do I look boring?”
She tilted her head, pretending to think. “A little she teased, then grinned. “But now I know better.”
I chuckled “Well, don’t forget it.”
She sat up suddenly. “Hey! Do you think we’re gonna be best friends?“”
I blinked, surprised. “Uh… maybe?”
She laughed. “Not maybe. We are. You’re stuck with me now.”
I rolled my eyes. “Great “X
“Really?” She pouted.
I laughed “Sure, Rudina. Whatever you say.
We stayed there, sitting in the flowers, talking and laughing. wasn’t so bad after all. Foggy was right

Rudina and I were still sitting in the meadow, laughing about who ran faster, when I heard footsteps behind us. I turned around, and
there he was–Nok.
His presence was impossible to miss. Calm, commanding, yet so casual it almost threw me off.
“Enjoying the meadow?” he asked, his deep voice cutting through the quiet.
Rudina stood up, her face lighting up. “Nok! What brings you here?”
He didn’t even glance at her. His sharp eyes were locked on me. “Lyria,” he said, his tone even, but there was something in the way he said my name that made me want to dance.
In this territory, I felt like good, like I belonged.
He didn’t even glance at her. His sharp eyes were locked on me. “Lyria,” he said, his tone even, but there was something in the way he said my name that made my stomach flip.
“Yes?” I replied, trying to sound indifferent, even though his aura was overwhelming.!
“I want to show you something,” he said.
“Can I come along?” Rudina asked but was shunned.
“OK…I am here please?” Rudina pouted.
“What is it?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
“The highest mountain in Wereworld. It’s in our territory,” he said, tilting his head. “You up for it?”
My wolf stimed inside me, excited by his words, but I hesitated. His presence was so… intense. It was like he pulled the air around him, and I couldn’t breathe right 8
“Sure,” I said quickly, trying to shake the weird feeling. “Why not?”
He gave a slight nod, a faint smirk playing on his lips. “Follow me.”
I glanced at Rudina, who looked ready to burst with excitement. “Go, Lyria!” she whispered loudly. “You’ll love it!”
“Don’t get too comfortable..he might give me to someone else I teased her, then turned to follow Nok
Walking beside him felt surreal. He moved with such ease, but there was power in every step. I wanted to ask if he was the Alpha of this pack, but I stopped myself. No Alpha would be this casual, right?
“Is this a way of making up?” I turned towards him.
“No…I don’t think I am apologising for stopping a lone wolf and questioning them before stepping into our territory.”
“Fair I muttered.

“So, I started, breaking the silence. “Is this mountain some kind of big deal?”
He looked at me, one eyebrow raised. “It’s the highest in Wereworld. Doesn’t get bigger than that.”
“Okay, fair” I muttered, feeling dumb.
We kept walking, the path winding through trees and rocks. The air grew cooler, and I could feel the climb in my legs.
“You’ve never been here?” he asked suddenly, his voice breaking the silence.
“No,” I said, shaking my head. “I’ve passed through your territory before, but I didn’t stop.”
He stopped walking and looked at me. “You’ve been here before?”
I hesitated, then nodded. “When I was a pup. I… was running from trouble” I recalled nights I ran away from the pack, trying to escape his punishment.
“Trouble?” he asked, curiosity flashing in his eyes.8
“Lilith,” I said simply “She always dragged me into something.”
He chuckled softly. “Sounds like you’ve had an interesting life.”
“Yes and I ran from that interesting life….I don’t want to talk about it though“?
