Chapter 30%
It’s been a month plus with them. Everyday was something new!
Living in Nok’s pack felt different. For the first time, I wasn’t just surviving. I was living. It was a strange feeling, one I hadn’t experienced before. Every day felt lighter, as if the weight on my shoulders had been lifted
Rudina made my stay worthwhile, actually being the sister I expected Lilith to be. I had already spent a month in the Crescent Territory and nobody would know I was a foreign wolf.!
Nok made everything easy. Unlike my adoptive father, who had ruled with an iron fist Nok commanded respect without ever needing to raise his voice. It was the way he carried himself, the way the pack followed his every word with complete trust. I could see how much they loved him, how much they believed in him
One evening, as we walked through the woods, the sounds of the pack around us–the soft rustling of leaves, the distant howls–felt like home, not the one I was familiar with. Nok’s arm brushed against mine, his scent filling my senses. I tumed to him, watching him interact with a few pack members. He was smiling, laughing with them, his tone friendly but firm
“See?” he said, noticing my gaze. “They respect me, but we’re all family here. No one is better than anyone else.”
I watched him, still amazed. He didn’t treat the Omegas any differently than the other wolves. The way he spoke to them, with kindness, with respect, made my heart swell, I had never seen that before, and it made me like him more than I already did.
“Why do you care so much about them?” I asked, a little curious “I’ve seen leaders ignore their own pack, even the Omegas.”
“You care about stray too I was proud. Knowing my father would never He love grouping wolves to status.!!
He glanced at me, a playful smirk on his face. “Because, Lyria, without them, we wouldn’t be whole. We all have a part to play. Every wolf is important.”
I couldn’t help but smille at how genuinely he believed that. It wasn’t just words for him–it was his way of life.
“Lyria, come on. We’re going to spar today,” Nak called, his voice carrying through the pack’s training grounds.
I sighed but followed him. Sparring was the last thing I wanted to do, but he insisted it would help me get stronger and blend more with she–wolves in the council. And I couldn’t refuse him.X
“You ready to get your ass kicked? I teased, crossing my arms over my chest
Nok grinned. “I don’t think it’s gonna be me who’s on the ground, Lyria”
“Don’t be too sure about that,” I replied with a smirk. “I’ve been through worse than this.”
He stepped closer, his eyes locking with mine. “You’ve been through a lot, but you don’t have to carry that weight here.”
I narrowed my eyes. T’m fine, Nok. Just because I’m with your pack doesn’t mean I’m forgetting everything.“%
He raised an eyebrow. “You don’t have to forget it. But you can stop letting it drag you down. You’ve got enough strength to be more
than that.”
I felt a twinge in my chest, but I ignored it. “Let’s just spar Less talk, more action.
Nok nodded, but his smile never faded, “Fine. But I’m warning you Lyria. I’m not going easy on you.”
“You better not,” I shot back, ready to move.!
We started sparring. The sound of our feet hitting the dirt filled the air. Nok’s movements were fluid, precise, like he had the world in his control. He wasn’t just a fighter, he was a leader. Every move he made had purpose, and he never wasted energy.&
“You’re good,” I said between breaths, dodging his latest attack.!
“I’m better than you, that’s for sure,” he grinned.
“Pfft, we’ll see about that.” I lunged, trying to take him down. But he blocked me easily, pushing me back with ease.
“You don’t have to prove anything to me, Lynia,” he said, catching my wrist. “Iknow who you are….you think I didn’t know about your last ordeal with your previous mate?“!!
