Kristina remembered that the doctor who had treated Trenton was the family physician of the McClain family. Suddenly, a flicker of astonishment crossed her eyes, and her expression grew serious.
Hadn’t such an important matter been kept confidential? She wondered how the McClain family’s news had leaked so quickly.
“Heard!” After taking a deep breath, she stared intently at Tessa and demanded sharply. “Where did you hear this from?”
“From the news,” Tessa replied in a matter–of–fact tone. “Kristina, you haven’t seen the news yet, have you? Ten minutes ago, that Trenton woke up with only the intelligence of a seven- or eight–year–old.”
“It must be trending now,” she added.

Upon hearing this, Kristina took out her phone and glanced at it. Sure enough, in a very short time, the topic of Trenton’s awakening had already climbed to the second position on the trending list.

Kristina’s presence was commanding, with a hint of anger flickering in her eyes. In her previous life, it wasn’t until she was near death that she discovered John and Lisa had long known about Tessa’s affair with Stanley.
However, because Tessa was carrying Stanley’s child, they pretended to be unaware, allowing Kristina to be deceived like a fool into donating her corneas and ultimately dying in a fire.

“How dare you speak to your father like that?” John was furious at her words. His eyes were bloodshot, and his chest heaved with anger. “Do you really think that just because you married into the McClain family, I can’t do anything to you?”
John’s expression was grotesque, his teeth clenched in rage. He pushed Lisa away from him and raised his hand, as if to slap Kristina’s face. But Kristina had no intention of letting him strike her. She quickly stepped back.
“Kristina, how dare you?” When his hand missed, John quickly grabbed Kristina’s bag. He roared hoarsely. “No matter who you are now, I am still your father.”
“It’s my right to discipline you. Even if the McClain family comes to your defense, they have no reason to stop me!” he continued to shout.
“Calm down,” Lisa said, ostensibly trying to mediate, but she was subtly pushing Kristina forward the whole time. In the struggle, Trenton’s black card fell to the ground.
