Chapter 10
The McClain family’s black card was custom–made, with a gleaming VIP logo beside the McClain Group emblem
Upon seeing the card, John, Lisa, and Tessa were all stunned.
“Could this be…” Lisa shuddered, murmuring in disbelief, “the McClain family’s unlimited black card?”
This kind of black card was only possessed by a handful of people within the McClain family. Even Stanley, the eldest grandson of the McClain family, had a logo–less card that had spending limits.
But Trenton’s card was unlimited; it wouldn’t be an issue even if he spent hundreds of millions of dollars at once.
“Kristina, where did you get this card?” John asked.
Lisa recognized the card, and so did John. His eyes couldn’t tear away from it for a second. His voice trembled with excitement.
Seeing that Kristina had received an unlimited black card from the McClain family just after her marriage, John felt she still had value to exploit He thought that perhaps Kristina’s marriage to Trenton could elevate the Bentley family even higher than he had anticipated.
“Kristina, did the McClain family give this to you?” Tessa’s eyes were red with jealousy, but she tried to sound calm. “After all the years Mom and Dad have supported you, don’t you think you should give something back to them?”
“You know our family’s financial situation isn’t great right now,” she continued. “If you handed this card over to Mom and Dad, it would definitely solve our immediate problems.
John, Lisa, and Tessa all stared greedily at the black card on the floor, their eyes like those of starving wolves who had spotted meat. Kristina couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh
In front of the three, she calmly picked up the card. “My husband gave this to me, with instructions to spendi
spend it as 1 please. But since it is the McClain family’s card, what should I do if they ask me where it is**
Hearing that it was Trenton who gave it to her, Tessa was taken aback and blurted out. “Does that fool know how to spend money?”
Upon hearing Tessa call Trenton a fool, Kristina’s face darkened instantly.
She slowly walked over and stared intently at Tessa with her fathomless eyes. Her large eyes gleamed menacingly, as if a wild beast lurked within, ready to pounce and tear someone to shreds.
Tessa fel a pang of panic and couldn’t help but take a step back “Kristina, what do you think you’re doing?”
“He is not a fool,” Kristina said sternly, staring at her. “Let me repeat he is not a fool. Do you understand?”
“Kristina, what are you doing? Lisa rushed forward and shielded Tessa behind her. “Tessa is your sister! Besides, what good is all that money to a woman like you?”
“It’s certainly useful,”
ul.” Kristina said with a smile, holding the black card between two fingers and shaking it slightly. “Besides, I never married Trenton
for the money”
“You know what true love is?” She raised her eyebrows, looking at John with a half–smile. “Dad, I remember you said those two words when you married Lisa, didn’t you?”
“What do you mean, Kristina?” Realizing the implication of her words, John was fuming. “We are family. Did you come back today just to defy us! I can let go of your impulsive decision to marry Trenton, bur—”
