Chapter 14
If Kristina admitted to having cervical cancer, she would lose her standing in the McClain family forever. But if she denied it, with Iris’s evidence,
she would be labeled a fraud.
If this news got out she would be ostracized by society. Such incidents were not rare, and the public was extremely sensitive to them.
Kristina casually rolled her eyes and caught a glimpse of Tessa. She was lurking in the corner, her expression unmistakably smug.
Clearly, the online fundraising scandal was likely a conspiracy between Tessa and Iris
Belinda’s face darkened immediately. Though she remained silent, her hands clenched into tight fists, the knuckles turning pale from the strain.
“Trenton McClain’s bride, a fraudster? That’s quite a headline. The reporters were eager, already preparing to write their stories. After all, whoever could break this news would surely cause a sensation
“But what if she really has cervical cancer?”
“A fallen king is still a king. The Bentley family is in bad shape, but they can’t be so poor that they can’t afford the surgery, right?”
“Truc
“Anyway, Kristina won’t be able to shake off the stigma”
The murmurs of the reporters reached Tessa’s ears. She shifted her posture, leaning lazily against the wall, her gaze on Kristina even more triumphant. She believed her plan was flawless. No matter what, Kristina wouldn’t find a way out.
“Kristina really thought that marrying into the McClain family would give her a worry–free life! How naive. Tessa thought to herself.
Amidst the murmurs, Kristina squeezed Trenton’s fingers tightly and stepped forward calmly. “First of all, Trenton does not have the intelligence of an eight–year–old child”
“Kristina, you’re in hot water yourself, and yet you want to defend Trenton!” Iris glared at her, retorting indignantly. “This is the doctor’s diagnosis. Do you really think you can overturn the doctor’s verdict just by saying so?”
“Kristina, who do you think you are?” Iris shouted hoarsely, eager to pin Kristina down
“Where is the doctor’s diagnosis?” Kristina glanced at Iris and directly reached out for the report
As soon as she spoke, Iris fell silent. The diagnosis had been given orally by the family doctor, and there was no paper document to show.
She hadn’t expected that, even in this situation, Kristina’s mind would still be so sharp.
“So there is no diagnosis report, is there?” Kristina smiled. But her smile flickered and disappeared before it reached her eyes.
In front of everyone, she gently patted Trenton on the back and said loudly, “Many of you here probably have children around eight years old. I’d like you to take a good look and tell me if he looks like an eight–year–old child”
At that moment, Trenton stood quietly. He was dressed in a black suit, with the shirt buttons fastened meticulously up to the first collar button. Moreover, he exuded an innate air of nobility and the commanding presence of a born leader.
“Well, he really doesn’t look like an eight–year–old,” someone finally spoke up after a long moment of contemplation. If an eight–year–old kid could have such an aura, that would be truly terrifying
“Kristina, stop playing your little tricks.” Iris couldn’t sit still as the situation seemed to be turning in Kristina’s favor. “The doctor said that Trenton’s intelligence is at the level of an eight–year–old, not his appearance”
“Besides, you knew you were going to be in a situation like this today, so you must have coached Trenton at home beforehand, right?” she continued, “To be honest, he only has this demeanor to bluff prople.”
“Very well,” Kristina smiled and nodded gently. “Then let’s verily his intelligence in another way?
Once, she had heard a rumor that Trenton was a genius in calculations, capable of mentally solving various complex math problems even at the age of seven or eight
Kristina’s gaze slowly swept across the faces of everyone pres
- present. “Iris, you
u and I are on opposing sides now.
“For the sake of fairness, why don’t we let the journalists here pose math questions to test whether Trenton’s intelligence is truly that of an eight

Chapter 14
Having been part of the McClain family for so many years, Iris naturally knew of Trenton’s abilities. Her face turned ashen as she objected, “No. I don’t agree.”
Suddenly, Kristina’s expression darkened, her eyes turning cold and menacing “Iris, why not? If you have the ability, why don’t you compete with
Trenton!
As soon as these words left her mouth, Iris felt as if she had been stabbed in the heart. She realized that Kristina was trying to humiliate her.
