“Tessa, did you come here to see me?” Kristina grabbed Tessa’s wrist. “Now that you’re here, don’t rush off. Come in and sit for a while.
With that, Kristina pulled her into the hall.
Inside the hall, Belinda was seated in a chair, gently massaging her temples. Iris stood nearby, casting furtive glances at her, looking uneasy.
Trenton, who had been standing by Belinda’s side, brightened up the moment he saw Kristina. He walked over and took her hand, his expression tinged with an inexplicable sense of grievance. “Kristina, where did you go?”
Kristina squeezed his hand in return. “I went to get my sister”
Earlier, Tessa hadn’t been able to see Trenton clearly from a distance and with people blocking her view. But now, as handsome face, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes.

Tessa couldn’t help but glance at Trenton a few more times, feeling a pang of jealousy. But then she reminded herself that he only had the intelligence of an eight–year–old, and she felt a little better.

“Belinda, this is my sister Tessa, Kristina said with a smile, introducing Tessa to Belinda.
Turning to look at Iris, her smile deepened. “Iris, my sister is young and has never been in a relationship before. Dad did introduce a few decent and honest men to her, but unfortunately, she didn’t like any of them.”
“What do you mean, Kristina?” Tessa glared, her eyes flashing with anger. She asked in a low voice. “Are you saying I’m not good enough for high society?”
Seeing Tessa’s aggressive demeanor, Belinda’s brow furrowed slightly, her expression tinged with disapproval
“I didn’t mean that,” Kristina said with a smile. “Everyone has different tastes. If you have someone in mind, of course you wouldn’t be interested in other men.”
Tessa panicked. She suspected that Kristina knew something.
“What do you mean, “someone in mind? She lowered her head. “Stop joking. Who could possibly be on my
mind?”
“Tessa, although our family can’t compare to the McClain family, our family rules are strict,” Kristina said. “You wouldn’t have forgotten Grandpa and Grandma’s words, would you?”
She looked serious. “Since you have already had sex with Stanley, I can’t just turn a blind eye. Otherwise, Grandpa and Grandma won’t rest easy in heaven”
Tessa’s eyes widened, and her head felt like it was buzzing. Kristina seemed to know about her relationship with Stanley. Tessa couldn’t figure out how she found out. She had thought she had covered it up well.
Kristina suddenly turned her head and looked at Iris. “Tris, when do you plan to have Stanley propose to Tessa!“.
At the mention of a proposal, Tessa felt her heart nearly leap out of her chest. She couldn’t believe she could so easily marry into high society.

Kristina was, after all, the true daughter of the Bentley family, while Tessa was merely John’s stepdaughter. Iris thought Tessa was unworthy of Stanley.
She didn’t mind Stanley having a fling with Tessa, but if he actually married her, it would make their entire family a laughingstock.
