Chapter 24%
Richard’s eyes were wide with shock as he stared at the papers in front of him. How did this happen? When? How wasn’t
In his hands was June’s pregnancy report. June was pregnant, with his chuld, and he hadn’t even known il
Richard paced his living room, running a hand through his hair low he understood why June had been so hurt by his actions E She had been carrying his child. She had needed him. She had been pregnant, vulnerable, and alone, and he hadn’t even known ⠀ His mind flashed back to when he had mistakenly shot June, and his eyes widened in honor. What had he done??
Hopefully, the child was okay X
This news changed everything. He needed to be there for her Not that bastard, Killian
That bastard couldn’t take Richard’s place. No, June belonged to him ⠀
She was carrying his child. That meant something it meant everything.
A small smile crossed his lips, but his smile quickly faded when he remembered that he was on house arrest.||
His father had pulled every string, spent a crazy amount of money to keep him out of prison. So now, the court had locked him in this mansion, trapped him in here like an animal
Richard growled in frustration, scratching his head
His child was out there, without a father. He needed to be there for his child.
The house arrest couldn’t stop him. Nothing could. He had to get to June
Richard rushed into his room, and began opening drawers and scattering his room. He pulled out his passports, cash, a few clothes, and anything else that he would need. He was getting out of here
He finished gathering everything, and was about to leave when the front door opened.
Richard froze.X
His father, Silas, stood at the door, crossing his arms with a heavy scowl on his face. Richard’s grip on his bag tightened as he cursed under his breath.
Silas glared fiercely at Richard with disapproval in his eyes.
“Going somewhere?” He sneered X
Richard’s heart pounded, and he gulped before he responded.
“I have to go.” he said firmly. June–she was pregnant. With my child. I need to see her“}
Silas’s face darkened, but he didn’t say anything, neither did he move.
Richard continued speaking, trying to get his father to understand.
“She didn’t tell me, father. I had no idea. She needed me, and I wasn’t there. But I can fix it I can still-
Richard’s head snapped to the side, as his father slapped him forcefully. His vision blurred for a split second, and his ears rang
faintly.
Silas had never hit him in a very long time.
Slowly, Richard turned his head back to face his father!!
Silas’s face was filled with rage, and with disgust.
“You selfish, stupid little shit.” Silas growled venomously. “After everything you’ve done, after the disaster you created, you’re still thinking of runners after that girl?“!!
Richard clenched his fists. “–”
“Shut up.” Silas snapped
Silas took a threatening step forward, causing Richard to step back ||
“You shot her.” Silas hissed. “You nearly killed her. And now, you want to go back to do what? Are you stupid?”
Richard scowled. “I didn’t know she was pregnant he snapped. “If I had-“]
Silas scoffed. “You think that will change anything? You think she will forgive you? That she will let you anywhere near her?”
Richard stayed silent, but he clenched his jaw
Silas released a sigh of frustration. “You have no idea what I had to do to clean up your mess” He hissed “Our stocks have dropped so low. Investors have backed out. We’re going bankrupt because of you. Because of your stupidity”
Richard stared at the floor. He knew things had been bad, but-
“I used every connection I had, spent millions, just to keep you out of prison. And for what?” Silas spat venomously. “To watch my only son tum into a pathetic disappointing failure?”
His father’s words pierced through Richard like small knives.)
Silas sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I should have let them lock you up,” he muttered. “You’re such a pathetic loser, and I regret ever helping to cover up for your actions
Richard’s body tensed as his father’s words sank in.
Pathetic.

Disappointment!
Richard felt something crack inside him as he stared at his father. He realized something. His father hated him.
You’re not leaving this house, unless I say so. Silas said firmly. “Is that clear?!” He barked.
Richard snapped, and before he knew what he was doing, he lunged at his father, shoving him backwards with a large force. Silas stumbled, his eyes widened in shock, but Richard didn’t stop. He wrapped his arm around his neck, and squeezed tightly.
Silas clawed at Richard’s hands as he choked, trying to remove his hands, but Richard tightened his grip as rage burned through him.
He was tired of his father always scolding, and insulting him like he was nothing!
“You should have let them lock me up?” he growled against Silas’s ears. “You regret covering up for me? Huh?”
Silas choked, and struggled for air as his son choked him. He hadn’t expected Richard to attack him. He tried to reach for his gun, but Richard was faster, and kicked the gun away from his hand.
“You think you can control me? Richard hissed, “That you can trap me here like some dog?”
Silas’s struggles weakened, and his fingers twitched, before he went limp in Richard’s arms. Richard didn’t let go. Not yet, until the body in his hands became completely heavy and lifeless…
Then he released the body and watched as his father, Silas Thome, the great Mafia boss, fell lifeless at his feet.
Richard was breathing heavily, and his hands shook.
But a small dark smile crossed his lips, because for the first time in his life, he was free. His father couldn’t stop him anymore, nothing could stop him. He was now the Mafia boss
“Look who’s the boss now, father” He murmured.
Richard grabbed his bag, stepped over Silas’s body, and walked out the door!
He was going to meet June
