Derek’s anger intensified when he saw Ethan.
“Sheila, are you kidding me?”
Derek couldn’t believe what he was seeing. After all, I had been infatuated with him for five
years.
In the past, I always accommodated him, never daring to go against his wishes, always prioritizing his feelings.
Everyone around me knew Derek was my everything.
Some even teased that if Derek’s mistress got pregnant, I’d shamelessly take care of her.
“What? Am I kidding? I’m dating Ethan openly now.”
“Sheila, don’t be naive. A playboy like Ethan just wants to play with you.”
I turned to Ethan. “He says you’re playing with me.”
Ethan grinned. “Can I play with you for a lifetime?”
Derek couldn’t take it anymore. “Sheila, don’t think you can disgust me by putting on this act with Ethan. Put away your little tricks!”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Derek’s overconfidence.
“Derek, don’t be mad. Sheila didn’t mean to betray you.”
Rebecca, standing nearby, deliberately stirred the pot, trying to cause more trouble.
“Sheila, you’d better not come crawling back to me! Let’s go.” Derek turned and led Rebecca back to their couple’s suite next door.
He had no problem checking into a hotel with Rebecca, yet he expected me to apologize. Derek was a master of double standards.
“Was he worth your obsession for four years?”
Ethan’s eyes filled with disdain.
I mocked myself, “Maybe I was blind.”
“What a pity. You got such beautiful eyes, yet blind.”
With that, Ethan closed the door and pressed me against it.
He looked at me teasingly, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes.
I turned my head away and didn’t dare to look Ethan in the eyes.
“Sheila, have you decided not to go back to him?”
I had no idea where I found the courage, but I cupped Ethan’s face and kissed him passionately.
“Are you afraid that I’ll pester you? You don’t have to take responsibility for me.”
“But, cutie, you have to be responsible.”
Ethan grabbed my hand and placed it on his abs.
His firm muscles made me blush instantly. His physique was flawless.
I swallowed hard, thinking, “What should I do? I’m already falling for his charm.”
Seeing I didn’t resist, Ethan firmly grabbed my chin and kissed me fiercely.

We were both breathless by the time he pulled away.
Ethan looked at me with unusual seriousness. “Sheila, I was just too ignorant when I was younger, and I never meant to hurt you. I just didn’t know how to get your attention…”
He seemed like a little boy who had done something wrong, nervous and no longer the confident playboy he usually was.
I wrapped my arms around his neck. “Alright. You’ve successfully got my attention now.” Ethan’s breathing became ragged. “That’s not enough. I need to keep trying.”
The next moment, he swept me off my feet, cradling me in his arms.
On the large bed in the presidential suite, our fingers intertwined.
In the heat of the moment, Ethan whispered in my ear, “Cutie, let me be your boyfriend.” Derek walked back into the room. Even though Rebecca appeared tender and caring, he couldn’t shake off the bitter feeling in his chest.
Just the thought of Sheila being with another man in the next room infuriated him. The girl who had always been infatuated with him no longer had eyes only for him.
It had been three whole hours, and I hadn’t called or even texted him.
For the first time, Derek’s confidence began to crumble. He had never felt so unsettled. Rebecca was right in front of him, but he had no interest in her.
She hugged, comforted, and kissed Derek, but he felt nothing.
Looking at Rebecca, all he could think of was my stunning and innocent face.
Derek didn’t even like me, and he hated how I always clung to him.
He hated how I never fought back, how I was always obedient and weak.
He despised how I tirelessly cared for him.
He loathed how I turned beet red whenever he kissed me.
Derek spent the whole night in a daze, occasionally glancing at his phone.
He even left Rebecca alone on the balcony, chain–smoking.
Finally, Derek couldn’t resist calling me.
Then, he realized I had blocked his number. In a fit of rage, he smashed his phone.
At that moment, he rushed to the door of Ethan’s and my room, banging on it like a madman.
