Chapter 39
Kristina stood tall and spoke with clarity, “I’ll be sending out the evidence to everyone and making it public. Plus, I’ve got a resignation letter right here–Yosef from the procurement department has officially left his position.
“I will hold him legally accountable and submit this evidence to the relevant authorities. I also want to thank everyone for keeping our charity accountable; your support means a lot, and I hope you continue to monitor how we handle every
donation.
“Wherever issues arise, we’ll trace the details back and ensure everyone is held accountable. Anyone who dares to break the law will face the consequences.”
Her voice was firm and carried an authority that brooked no dissent.
The room fell silent; everyone had closed their mouths, and even breathing seemed to quiet down as Kristina faced the
cameras.
Suddenly, a gasp echoed from the crowd. “No way, the CEO of White Feather Company just posted something“”
White Feather Company was the brand Kristina had worked with; it was the best food company in the country. For the president to post something personally like this proved just how serious this situation was.
Checking her phone, Kristina saw a strongly–worded official statement from the CEO. He expressed his trust in Kristina’s character and promised to cooperate during the investigation, insisting that the wrongdoers be brought to justice. He even offered to provide top–notch lawyers from his company to assist the charity.
Kristina felt a wave of understanding wash over her. This had to be Yasmine’s doing. They had been friends for years and developed an unspoken understanding–often, Yasmine would just know how to smooth things over for her.
A surge of gratitude filled Kristina’s heart. Reflecting on her past, she felt foolish for ever prioritizing a scummy ex- boyfriend over a true friend. With friends like Yasmine, she was incredibly lucky.
Meanwhile, reporters were buzzing with curiosity about Kristina’s background; how could she manage to garner such support from the CEO of the largest food company in the country?
In the crowd, someone had shifted to the entrance, and Kristina subtly signaled to her bodyguards. They were well–trained and immediately understood her intent, moving in from different directions to encircle the individual.
It was Yosef’s tall, skinny cousin.
Kristina’s gaze returned to the cameras, her demeanor radiating an air of elegance and poise, like a star during a red–carpet interview.
She said, “Thank you all for your support today. I hope you can participate in upcoming legal proceedings and help us publicly follow up on the investigation’s results.
“Until the embezzled funds are recovered, I’ll cover the financial gap with my own money. I won’t let down the kindness and support from everyone here.”
Watching Kristina speak so confidently, Caroline was left speechless. She had not only resolved the issue but also gained the backing of a major corporate CEO and access to their premier legal team.
Kristina was just a girl from a small background–how could she interact with someone of such high status? Even marrying Trenton didn’t elevate her from being seen as an insignificant player among the truly powerful.
Caroline’s gaze shifted to the noble and handsome Trenton, and suddenly everything clicked into place. Strutting in her high heels, she approached Kristina and Trenton with an air of arrogance.
“A guy like the CEO of White Feather Company must have a million things on his plate–he wouldn’t pay attention to petty

gossip, right?
“I really didn’t expect Ms. Bentley to be so influential as to get such a swift and strong statement of support from him. This has to indicate a special connection, doesn’t it?” said Caroline.
Caroline deliberately raised her voice, her expression loaded with insinuation. She leaned closer to Kristina, morking, “Me Bentley, how do you know the CEO so well?”
“What’s it to you?” Kristina replied coolly.
Caroline chuckled, shifting her focus to Trenton. “And what about you, Mr. McClain? Don’t you have any doubts about this situation?”
“I trust Kristina,” Trenton said simply and firmly.
Caroline blinked in surprise, then suddenly her expression brightened as if she had thought of something “My bad! 1 forgo you have the intellect of an eight–year–old. An eight–year–old wouldn’t get the implications of my words, nor understand how dirty the adult world can be.”
Trenton’s gaze lowered to Caroline, a flicker of coldness in his eyes. “What’s your name?”
Caroline tensed, instantly on guard. “What do you want?”
Kristina handed Trenton the resignation letter, pointing out the signature. “Caroline Floyd, the daughter of the Floyds–the well–known beverage manufacturers.”
Trenton nodded. “The McClain family will no longer be collaborating with the Floyd family.”
