Iris yanked the memory card from her tablet and snapped it in half with a satisfying crunch.
Kristina burst into laughter, leisurely saying, “No worries. I’ve saved several copies. If you want to see them, I can pull them up anytime.”
Setting her milk glass down, Kristina strolled over to Iris and leaned in close. “You’d better listen to me. I have all those videos, and if I’m not in a good mood one day, I could just release them. You’d be in even more trouble then.”
“Kristina!” Iris forced out Kristina’s name through gritted teeth, her eyes flashing with rage. But she didn’t dare to confront Kristina any further, storming off in anger.
As she walked out to the yard, Iris happened to spot Tessa, who had just finished washing off in the pond. Tessa looked relatively okay, dressed in a Chanel set designed by a Farronia designer.
Iris shot her a dirty look and stormed away.
Back in the villa, Tessa turned to Kristina with concern. “Do you think Iris knows about what happened between me and Stanley at the hospital? Is that why she punished me?”
Tessa was genuinely worried, feeling that Iris didn’t want her marrying into the McClain family.
Kristina set down her empty milk glass and replied, “Iris is just being a jerk. You shouldn’t pay her any mind. As long as you can win Stanley’s heart, it doesn’t matter what she tries to do. He’s the one who decides who marries into his family
After a pause, Kristina added, “So, how’s it going between you two? Have you slept with Stanley yet?”
Tessa pouted, her expression conflicted. “I don’t even know what happened last time. Everything was fine until he suddenly pushed me away and said I was ‘poisonous‘. He can’t possibly have some hidden issue, right?”
Kristina raised an eyebrow. “Who turns down a juicy steak just sitting on their plate? What if he’s been with other women too much and got spooked?
“Here’s an idea: why don’t you buy him some health supplements? The way I see it, if you get pregnant with his child, you’ll have an easier time marrying into the McClain family. After all, Belinda is dying to have a grandchild. I know the perfect place that sells these kinds of products. I can recommend it to you.”
Tessa’s face lit up with excitement. No wonder Kristina had slipped so easily into the McClain family; her strategies were clever and effective.
Once she had the address, Tessa couldn’t wait to leave. Watching her rush off, Kristina couldn’t help but smile smugly. She then picked up her phone and made a call.
“Hello? Tessa is heading to you soon to pick up the medicine. You know what to do, right? Make sure she doesn’t get disappointed,” Kristina instructed.
Since Stanley’s family had used underhanded tactics to harm Trenton, Kristina decided to let Stanley unself experience the effects of the same tactics.
Later, she got a call from the charity organization. “Ms. Bentley, we’ve captured Yosef. We have solid evidence, and he’s confessed all the crimes to cooperate with his reduced sentence.
“Someone bribed him and paid him to do it, but he doesn’t know who it is; the payment was made in cash, not through a bank transfer.”
“Alright, hand him over to the relevant authorities,” Kristina instructed.
“Yes, Ms. Bentley.”
