Chapter 24
Chapter 23 TW Violence
I felt like a remake of a film I had seen before.
Something I had witnessed.
But no, I wasn’t just a witness to that and definitely, it wasn’t a
“Bullshit, Cam”” Liam’s voice thundered through the room as he harshly pushed the woman he had been kissing, making me freeze in place just as I was about to rum my back and leave quietly. “Are you f*cking out of your mind?”
“Out of my mind? Between us, don’t you think you should be asking yourself that, Liam?” she tried her best to equal Liam’s voice but failed miserably when it broke.
“Cam before I forget-
“It’s not Cam! It’s Camille! Why can’t you call me that now, Liam! Why?”
Her name is Camille?

“You used to call me that during the first year. Hunter introduced me to you. What happened? Why can’t you call me that now!”
“Leave, Cam, before I forget that you’re Hunter’s cousin–Liam stopped mid–sentence when the woman’s gaze shifted to me.
Slowly, his eyes followed hers and landed on me.
Now they knew they weren’t alone that I was here, standing like an audience, watching them as if they were shooting a goddamn movie.
What a show
I cleared my throat and found my voice. “I’m sorry
“Your eyes.. they’re not contact lenses, right?” Camille asked as she walked toward me.
Judging from the way she walked and her flushed face, it was crystal clear that she was drunk
Drunk early in the morning!
Seriously
Last night, a drunk Liam had called me.
And now this!
“Davis!” Liam shouted as the woman reached me and grabbed my arms.
I almost winced from the pain of her nails digging into my skin, but I kept my expression blank.
“Are you drunk, Ma’am?” I asked politely, itching to pull her hands off me.
Liam approached us as if ready to intervene, but I instinctively stepped away from his hold.
“Let her go. Cam—”
“No! You have to wake up, Liam She’s not her! She’s not your ex–wife!” the woman snapped before glancing at me again.
“Tell me You’re not wearing
I pulled my arms free from her grasp p and rubbed my eyes with my fingers, cutting her off,
“It’s not contact lenses. Ma’am. These are my real eyes,” I said firmly, making sure they could see that nothing fell from my eyes.
The woman laughed—a bitter one, then turned to Liam with an ‘I told you so‘ expression. “See? I was right-
But her words were cut off abruptly.
I gasped, my eyes widening in shock as, in a matter of seconds, the woman named Camille was already on the floor, holding her cheek after Liam 1/3

His voice was cold, clipped, and devoid of emotion
“Not you, Miss Miller. Liam’s icy tone echoed across the room as I instinctively began to turn away.
“I–I can’t believe you, Liam. Everyone around me warned about you, but I defended you!” Camille’s voice trembled, a mix of anger and despair spilling out “I told them 1 saw something in you–something they couldn’t see!”
“Just leave, Davis,” Liam snapped, his voice hardening. “I don’t f*cking need your drama. You crossed the lines I set for you, and you damn well
know it.”
“You’re heardess. A monster!” Camille shouted back, her voice breaking. “That’s why you f*cking deserve what happened to you! Just admit it you’ll die alone. Liam! Camille won’t come back. She’s gone, along with the baby you told her to abort!”
“I said f*cking shut up!”
“Liam“” I shouted in panic as his hand shot out, gripping Camille’s neck.
In

“And so!” he replied, his voice eerily calm, his grip tightening
“Y–you’ll end up a criminal
A cruel smirk tugged at his lips as he cut me off. “I’ve been a criminall for a long time,
Miss Miller.”
Camille’s lips were turning violet, her eyes bulging, the whites of her eyes becoming more visible with every passing second
I could no longer hold back. I grabbed Liam’s arm, my voice breaking with desperation. “Please, stop. Let her go. Mr. Anderson.”
The loud crash of Camille’s body hinting the floor reverberated through the room. She gasped for air, coughing violently, her chest heaving as she clutched at her throat.
I was about to help her, but Liam Anderson pulled me back before I could get to her.
I tried to free my hand, but his grip was unyielding.
He opened the door to his office, still holding onto me.
“Get her.”
His men in suits didn’t say a word. They stepped into the office without hesitation, understanding his command with just two words.
One of them carried Camille Davis, who was now unconsciou

“Encode those and fix my schedule,” he said, his tone leaving no room for disagreement.
“Oh, and one more thing I want coffee.”
I forced a polite smile, even though I wanted to throw those files in his face. “Okay. Mr. Anderson–Liam.” I corrected myself quickly when his raised eyebrow challenged me.
