Chapter 67
Iris, looking fierce and angry, scolded Kristina like a shrew, “How are you managing this household? Are you capable of being in charge?
“How long my son’s been trending online. Everyone knows, and you haven’t done anything about it.
“And my son isn’t in the hospital anymore. We’ve searched everywhere and can’t find him. Did you hide him on purpose? Are you trying to get back at him?”
This barrage of questions made Kristina confused, looking at Iris like she was insane. Kristina asked, “What are you talking about?”
“Kristina, you did this on purpose, you bitch!” Iris yelled.
Iris was about to rush over when Belinda came down the stairs and yelled at her, “What’s all this nonsense in the middle of the night?”
“Mom, you have to support me. Kristina’s practically stabbing me in the back. She’s doing this on purpose to get back at my son!” Iris yelled.
Iris cried as she went over what happened, her heart breaking with each word and her hatred for Kristina deepening.
The commotion was so serious that Belinda noticed. But she didn’t plan to get involved. Since she had already handed over the management duties, she decided to see how Kristina would handle the situation.
Kristina walked over, frowning, and said, “Stop yelling like that. If you have something to say, let’s discuss it calmly.” She didn’t want Iris to wake Trenton, who had finally managed to fall asleep.
When they got to the living room downstairs, Kristina didn’t hold back against Iris. “I haven’t even confronted you yet, and now you show up,” she quickly retorted.
“Your son wanted to marry me as a cover wife, huh? Your whole family is deceitful, and you still have the nerve to ask why I haven’t taken down the video. You better explain what’s going on first!” Kristina’s barrage left Iris speechless.
Belinda was initially worried, but seeing the confidence Kristina exuded, Belinda decided not to interfere any further. She believed Kristina could handle the situation.
Iris was completely stunned. She had come to demand an explanation but ended up being questioned by Kristina instead. She was clearly in the right, but now she felt like she was in the wrong.
Kristina sneered and said, “It’s such a shame. If you’d been nicer to me, I might’ve helped you find Stanley. But with your attitude now, there’s no way I’m helping you.
“I’m someone who hates being taken advantage of. I don’t want my kindness to be taken for granted and then have it backfire on me.”
Iris’s heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, she questioned if she had truly made a mistake.
At that moment, the villa door opened, and Charlie, Iris’s husband, hurried into the living room. Ever since his heart attack from stress landed him in the hospital, he’s been taking it easy to recover.
Now, he looked noticeably thinner than before, his clothes hung more loosely on him, and he seemed quite exhausted.
“What’s going on here? Where’s Mom? Is she upstairs?” Charlie was about to head upstairs when Kristina stopped him.
“Mom’s not feeling well and is resting. It’s so late now. If there’s anything you need, tell me. I’ll let Mom know,” Kristina said.
Charlie’s face changed, and he frowned, “So, I’m supposed to talk to you, huh?
“I wanted to confront you. I don’t mind you and Trenton managing the company, but why was I removed from my position? Are you trying to mess with me intentionally?”
Charlie was almost twenty years older than Trenton, and although they were brothers, Charlie always put himself in the role of the elder.
Charlie thought, ‘Kristina is an outsider. How can I accept being treated like this?‘
“Charlic, I can’t decide that. It’s all Mom’s decision. You shouldn’t ask me or Mom if you want to know the reason. You should ask your wife.” Kristina gave a knowing smile and looked at Iris beside her.
“I–I…” Iris stammered, struggling to find her words.
Iris hadn’t told Charlie about what happened. She couldn’t say Stanley tried to kidnap Kristina and almost did something terrible.

Kristina smirked, “Since Iris can’t say it, I will. It’s all because you have such a vicious wife and son who let you retire early and enjoy a peaceful life at home.”
