Chapter 77
Kristina couldn’t shake the feeling that Devin wasn’t quite what she’d imagined. It was hard to believe he’d agreed so easily.
Trenton shrugged. “Maybe he’s in a good mood today.”
Devin was in his room, feeling pretty good about things. He hadn’t had much time to catch up with his daughter before she left, but at least they’d talked. Kristina had come to him on her own, and that was something.
Meanwhile, downstairs at the venue, Stanley had already passed out and was being carried to the car by a few bodyguards.
Watching Kristina direct Devin’s bodyguards, Yasmine felt a wave of admiration. “Kristina, you’re amazing. To demand someone from Mr. Anderson–I’m blown away by how much you’ve changed.”

When Yasmine met Kristina this time, she felt like Kristina had turned into a completely different person. Kristina was now a total powerhouse, full of energy and confidence.
Kristina had already made a name for herself, especially after shutting Marilyn down. Today, she convinced Devin to let someone go. Yasmine was blown away, feeling like Kristina was shining with confidence.
Kristina, though, just looked puzzled and shook her head. “Maybe I just got lucky and caught Mr. Anderson in a good mood,” she said.
“Kristina, are you taking Stanley back? Are you heading to the hospital or straight home with him?” Yasmine asked, her eyes wide.
Kristina waved at the bodyguards. “Find a quiet street and drop him off there. I’ll handle the rest,” she told them. She wasn’t about to make things harder for herself–Stanley’s family should deal with him.
They got in the car, and the driver found a quiet street. The bodyguards helped Stanley out, making sure he was okay.
Kristina leaned her head on Trenton’s shoulder and quickly sent an anonymous text to Iris, filling her in on Stanley’s location. She included a photo the driver had snapped from another angle.
Next, she called Tessa. “Stanley’s been found, and this is your shot to shine,” she said, her voice serious. “Be the first one there to help him. This could really boost your reputation.”
Tessa’s voice was tinged with excitement. “Found him? Where is he?”
“I’m sending you the address now. Get there fast,” Kristina pressed. “And remember, when people are down and vulnerable, they need kindness the most. Be gentle and considerate.”
“Got it. I’ll be right there,” Tessa replied quickly.
After hanging up the phone, Kristina quickly texted the address to Tessa, a sly grin spreading across her face.
Turning to Yasmine and Trenton, she said, “Alright, now we can really enjoy the show. My food delivery should be here any minute, so we can eat and watch at the same time.”
The car was tucked away among the trees, and Kristina had ordered skewers and a mix of beer and soda to enjoy in the car’s spacious, luxurious
interior.
A few minutes later, they spotted a woman in a tight black dress and high heels walking their way–it was Tessa.
From a distance, Tessa looked great with her wavy hair and striking figure. But up close, her face showed the pain she’d been through. Her teeth were still missing, making eating difficult, and her lips were swollen.
When she saw Stanley lying on the ground, looking like he’d been dragged through hell, she let out a scream.
His body was covered in wounds, his pants torn to shreds, revealing his bruised and bloody legs. It was obvious he’d been through a beating.
Tessa was completely shocked. Before she could process how Stanley ended up like this, a silver–gray minivan pulled up beside them.
