“Hailey, congratulations! You’ve officially become a lawyer!”
Oscar’s excitement even outpaced Hailey’s.
“Your family asked you to inherit the family business. Why do you still come to the law firm
every day?”
It was only later that I discovered Oscar hailed from a highly influential family. He was
a low–profile rich second generation, or perhaps more aptly described as an elite second
generation.
He was excellent in all aspects. Restaurants, hotels, bars, and the like were all among his
investment undertakings during his moments of leisure.
Academically, he was equally remarkable. Law was merely one of the many disciplines he
had mastered.
Oscar had an in–depth understanding of running large corporate conglomerates.
After getting to know him better, I really admired him. How could he manage to learn so much and still be brimming with energy?
In contrast, it had been eight long years since I’d decided to resume my legal studies. It had
taken me two attempts to finally pass the bar exam and obtain my lawyer’s license.
Over the past year, while managing his family’s business, Oscar came to the law firm every day to watch me review.
“I come to the law firm so that I can see you every day!”
Oscar was straightforward and honest. His intense love was so palpable that it was nearly
impossible for me to ignore it.
“Oscar, I’m in my thirties, much older than you!”
Oscar smiled. “My feelings for you have nothing to do with your age.”
I learned from my experience that men at his age often had passionate and strong
emotions. However, as they grew older, their thoughts often changed.
Felix was a prime example of this.
Once upon a time, his affection for me burned just as brightly as Oscar’s did now.
“Let’s make an agreement. In three years, if you’re still absolutely certain that you are fond of,
me, I’ll be your girlfriend.”
Three years was enough for Oscar to mature and encounter a wider range of women.
He chuckled, “You can’t break your promise!”
I nodded firmly. “I won’t.”
Suddenly, Oscar kissed my forehead tenderly and then whispered softly into my ear, “The
men in my family are all Romeos.”
I was puzzled.
Oscar beamed with joy, his eyes starry. “We’re all loyal in our relationships.”
