My words hit Vivian like a bolt of lightning. She stood frozen in place.
“How do you know that?!”
She shrieked at me.
I watched her unravel, my expression calm.
“Because the System once approached me too, asking if I wanted to switch bodies
refused.”
At first, I wasn’t sure.
When the system came to me, it said it could help me escape my miserable life. But i
rejected the offer.
I couldn’t bear the thought of some innocent girl being forced into my body, having to endure
the darkness and suffering in my place.
Marrying Herbert, though I had been deceived, was still my choice.
So I deserved to rot in this hell.
What I never expected was that Vivian would make a deal with the system and willingly
swap bodies with me.
The moment I found myself trapped in Vivian’s body, I wasn’t entirely certain. But when I saw
her at the villa and heard her speak, all I could feel was helpless amusement.
I never imagined someone would actually envy my miserable life.
“The day I came to see you, I asked if you were sure you wanted to switch. That was your last
chance.”
I told her the truth, then pushed her aside and stepped away.
“A fair trade.”
Vivian seemed frozen in time, holding her stiff posture for what felt like forever. Then, as if a
dam had burst, she lunged at me in a frenzy, hitting me wildly.
“I don’t believe it! I’m the real Vivian! Give it back to me! Give me my body back!”
“I don’t want this anymore!”
Even though she was stuck in my weak and fragile body, her desperation made her terrifying.
Just as I reached my limit and was about to fight back, someone pulled her off me.
It was Cedric.
He yanked Vivian away and tossed her straight into Herbert’s arms.
“Ah! I’m not Jeanette! Let go of me! !…”
The moment Vivian saw Herbert, she went completely hysterical, screaming at the top of
her lungs. However, due to certain rules of the System, she was unable to speak about the body
swap. No matter how hard she struggled, the truth refused to come out.
In public, Herbert always maintained a gentlemanly facade. He handed Vivian over to his bodyguards, then turned to us with a harmless smile. “Apologies. Jeanette has been under a lot of stress lately, and her mental state hasn’t been great. She even hurt herself, causing trouble for

In public, Herbert always maintained a gentlemanly facade. He handed Vivian over to his bodyguards, then turned to us with a harmless smile. “Apologies. Jeanette has been under a lot of stress lately, and her mental state hasn’t been great. She even hurt herself, causing trouble for you all.”
Hearing this, I felt a chill run down my spine.
I was no longer the victim, but watching all this unfold still made me shrink in fear.
Cedric helped me up and pulled me into his arms. His voice was cold as he spoke to Herbert. “In that case, keep a better eye on her. I don’t ever want to see her again.”
