“Don’t ask so many questions.” Nill clearly didn’t want his son to have too much interaction with Alpha Frank.
He reached out and pulled the little boy towards him. “Come on, let’s go home.”
However, the little boy wriggled out of Nill’s grasp and ran over to Alpha Frank.
He looked Alpha Frank up and down. “Uncle, you look so sad“.
Alpha Frank looked at the naive little boy in front of him, his heart a complex mix of emotions. He forced a faint smile. “Uncle is okay.”

The little boy leaned on Nill’s shoulder, stuck out his tongue at Alpha Frank, and then waved at him. Instinctively, Alpha Frank waved back.
Alpha Frank thought to himself that Nill had actually come back. Three years ago, he learned that Nill had resigned seemed to have gone to another pack. He never expected to see him again.
Now, Nill had a family and such a lovely child.
He had thought that Nill, like him, would be haunted by pain and never be able to start a new life easily.

Nill carried his son back to the car.
“Dad, that uncle looked so pitiful. Why was he so unhappy?”
Nill didn’t answer. He started the car. He never thought he would run into Alpha Frank here.
He had done everything he could to protect Nancy.

To give Nancy a chance at life, Nill decided to accept take her back. At the same time, to avoid unnecessary trouble, he faked Nancy’s death.

Just now, when he saw Alpha Frank, a cold sweat broke out on his back.
He was terrified that the secrets of the past would be revealed and affect Nancy’s upcoming treatment.
“Was that Alpha Frank by the lake?” I asked.
Nill’s hand tightened on the steering wheel.
He instinctively wanted to refute, but all that came out was a long silence.

Nill cursed his own clumsy tongue.
“Nill, you’re really so stupid”
My eyes sparkled. “Really.”
Being called stupid out of the blue, Nill actually felt a bit of sweetness.
Recently, Alpha Frank had been constantly feeling unwell. He often felt dizzy and his spirit was getting weaker day by day.
Fancy, seeing his increasingly haggard appearance, was filled with heartache. After repeated persuasion, Alpha Frank finally decided to go to the hospital for a check–up.

He put on the formal sweater that Nancy had loved the most. It was as if he could find a glimmer of comfort in it, or perhaps he was using this as a way to punish himself.
When he arrived at the hospital, Alpha Frank headed straight for the registration desk.

When the vice–president saw him, he was about to greet him, but upon seeing Alpha Frank’s exhausted face, he asked with concern, “Alpha Frank, you don’t look well. What’s wrong?”
Alpha Frank’s voice was hoarse with fatigue. “I haven’t been feeling well recently, so I’m here for a check – up.”
“Then go register right away. If you need any help, don’t hesitate to tell me.”

Alpha Frank thanked him, and after registering, he sat on a chair, and the constant flow of people and the noisy voices around him made him even more irritable.
Just then, a small figure bumped into his leg.
Alpha Frank looked down and saw a little. head with a strawberry – shaped hairpin.
The child, dazed from the impact, rubbed his forehead. He didn’t cry but looked up at Alpha Frank.
Why was Nill here with the child?
Alpha Frank crouched down to the boy’s level.
“Why are you here all alone?”

He glanced at the small name tag pinned to the girl’s chest. “Is your name Nancy?”
“No —” Sam exclaimed loudly. “Nancy is Mommy’s name. I’m Sam!!”
