At that moment, I was knocked to the ground, my body covered in dirt and my hair disheveled. Lily didn’t even recognize me. She approached, briefly surveyed my injuries and said with disdain.
“You‘ re the old classmate who often bullied Logan, right? I‘ m Logan’s wife and it’s unforgivable what you did to him. But since you’ve already been taught a lesson, I won’t pursue this further.”
“Today is mine and Logan’s wedding day,” she continued, “and I won’t allow any accidents. Seeing as you’ve only suffered minor injuries, I’ll offer you compensation later. This matter will be settled privately. You don‘ t have a problem with that, do you?”
Her words were casual, her tone dripping with superiority, as if simply speaking to me was a great favor. But I didn‘ t respond, only letting out a cold snort.

Lily frowned slightly. “What? Are you not satisfied with this?”
She paused for a moment before adding,
“Forget it. It’s my big day, so I can’t be bothered with you too much. If you need anything in the future, you can come to Besla Business Group and look for me. matter what it is, I’ll take care of it.”
No
Her gaze looked down on me, full of contempt, as if I were beneath her notice.
Logan, irritated, spoke up. “It’s not like I beat you to death. Shouldn’t you be grateful? If it weren‘ t for being an old classmate, you wouldn‘ t even be getting this much.”
The other classmates, envious and resentful, chimed in.
“That’s right! Do you still think you‘ re the top student everyone praised in high school? Ms. Sharper is doing you a favor just by talking to you.”
“Why are you still lying on the ground?

Get up and thank Ms. Sharper!”
“Lying there like that, he must be laughing inside. This ‘gift‘ from Ms. Sharper might be the biggest honor of his life.”
As these classmates mocked me, I felt their anger and jealousy flare up. They were clearly displeased that I wasn‘ t more grateful. Lily, losing her patience, turned to me again.
“For Logan’s sake, I’ve been
merciful,” she said, her voice growing colder. “Don’t be too greedy. If you keep causing trouble at my wedding, I won’t hesitate to show you just how impolite I can be!”
Under her threat, I endured the pain of
my
injuries and slowly stood up, facing her directly. I sneered.
“Lily Sharper, you‘ re still so imposing,” I said bitterly.

rainy night. I was driving home when the heavy rain and poor visibility made it difficult to see. Suddenly, she appeared in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes but still hit her. She was thrown a few
meters away and I rushed out, intending to take her to the hospital. But she got up slowly, assured me she was fine and walked off without a word.
Watching her disappear into the rainy night, something in my heart stirred. That was the first time I saw such a remarkable woman. I couldn’t help but investigate her. I found out she worked at my father‘ s company and I took the opportunity to join as an intern.
When I appeared at the company, Lily was visibly shocked. She, too, was a recent intern, wearing big black–frame glasses and dressing plainly. Her eyes were clear, almost innocent and she gave the
impression of being cute. But she worked incredibly hard. She came from a rural background, with no special talents and

relied on sheer perseverance. She was one of the hardest–working interns, always focused on her tasks.
I was impressed by her diligence and seriousness. Soon after, she was converted to a permanent position thanks to my efforts. She was overjoyed and worked even harder after the transfer. Her perseverance and unyielding spirit captivated me.
As I got to know her, I realized that beneath her quiet demeanor was a playful, gentle and thoughtful side. She would share her breakfast with me when I didn’t have time to eat, bring me hot water and medicine when I had a stomach ache and tell silly jokes to lift my spirits when I was down. With her, I always felt at ease, even in silence.
Our relationship took a leap one day at a café when a woman accused me of touching her inappropriately. The whole café turned against me, but the CCTV footage was inconclusive. Just as I was

about to be taken to the police station, Lily stepped forward, showing a video she had recorded. It proved I had done nothing wrong and the woman fled, humiliated.
Everyone who had accused me apologized and I looked at Lily in that moment, seeing her in a new light. It felt as if she had a strange glow about her and I couldn’t look away. I confessed my feelings to her soon after and she readily accepted me. We began our relationship.
Our love was simple but happy. We spent time together doing ordinary things- movies, walks in the park and playground visits. It was peaceful, unburdened by expectations.
Eventually, I introduced Lily to my father. When she learned that I was the son of one of the wealthiest men in the world, she was nervous. But my father, impressed by her sincerity, made it clear he didn’t care about her background. All he cared about was that she loved me wholeheartedly.
