Chapter 16
Antonio calmly looked at the woman, who was staring daggers as if in the hopes that her look would disintegrate him.
However, it barely fazed him as he moved the drip stand further away from her so she wouldn’t be able to seek its support as he wanted to watch her struggle.
Whether it was in a small way or a big way, watching her suffer and getting her angry satisfied him more than anything.
“Get dressed, we’re leaving,” he repeated as he took a step back to give her all the space she would need to fall without trying to hold him.
“First off, in case your thick skull hasn’t noticed, I can’t use my legs and secondly, leaving to where?” She inquired once
more.
“Get dressed,” was all Antonio said in response, ignoring her insult.
“No. I’m not going anywhere with you. I’m going home,” Zabelle refused stubbornly.
“What home? Your apartment?” Antonio scoffed. “Guess what, your things have already been moved out to God knows where and someone else is already living in it.”
“You’re fucking kidding, right?” Zabelle hissed, but even she knew that Antonio was well capable of doing so and with the way he said it, it didn’t seem like he was joking.
“Hasn’t it been established that I don’t make jokes,” Antonio responded. His plan was a well–thought one, one that would get Zabelle right where he wanted her.
She had no place to go and no money on her. All of her valuables were gone, and that included her important documents.
She had fallen into his web, all that remained was for her to meet him in the center so he could eat her up.
Zabelle needed a moment to process what she had just heard, and it was a bombshell. All of her documents were in her apartment, and now they were gone.
Not only would it take time to regain them, it was going to be stressful as well.
Going back to her family was out of the question, which meant she was on her own. The only way out seemed to be following Antonio to wherever he wanted to take her, but that was another problem in itself, as she didn’t know what he had in mind.
“Are you going to kill me?” She probed. As long as he wasn’t going to kill her, she would take what he would throw her way until she was able to figure out her life.
It was appalling to see how much her seemingly peaceful life had been turned upside down, and it all started when the bastard standing right in front of her entered her life.
“If I was going to do it, I would have done so,” Antonio answered “Don’t make me repeat myself,” he warned her. Never had he been tested so much, and it was irritating.
“Fine, I’ll get dressed, but I still can’t get up myself without some form of assistance,” she started as her eyes rested on the drip stand which was far from where she was.
“That’s too bad. Be ready in five minutes,” he said to her without a hint of pity before he turned and left.
Zabelle started at the door in disbelief, and she shook her head. Wasn’t he ever taught how to be nice? She wondered.
Seeing that she wasn’t going to get any help, she dragged herself to where the drip stand was, after which she used its help to

stand.
She could feel some sensation coming back to her legs, but they were still very weak. She then made her way back to the bed, after which she began to change
It seemed it was one of Antonio’s clothes as it was oversized with the shirt reaching the middle of her thighs.
Seeing that was already the case, she didn’t make any attempt to wear the pants as she didn’t want to stress her legs.
When Antonio walked back in, she was ready to leave. “Come on he said to her as he rested on the door.
“Antonio, I can’t walk.” Zabelle pointed out for the umpteenth time. It had taken a lot of energy for her to make it to the bed, even with the drip stand. The fact that she hadn’t eaten since she woke up didn’t help.
“So, what am I supposed to do about that?” Antonio raised an eyebrow.
“Help me.” Zabelle cried out as she ran her fingers through her hair, which wasn’t as easy as before as it hadn’t been combed in a month.
There was silence in the room as Antonio was deciding whether or not to help her, while Zabelle waited to see what he would decide.
After about two minutes, he started to make his way over to the bed, and Zabelle heaved a sigh of relief.
Without saying anything to her, he bent and carried her in his arms bridal style, catching her off guard, as she had assumed he would support her while she walked.
She quickly encircled her hands around his neck, as she didn’t want to fall if he had a change of mind and decided to drop her.
Antonio didn’t waste any time in turning and leaving the room, as he was sick of the hospital already. Using the private exit as he didn’t want to have to deal with people, he got out of the hospital in no time.
His guards who were already waiting for him opened the door, and he placed Zabelle inside the car after which he turned and got in. The driver then started the car, and they were on their way.
Zabelle was clueless about where they were going, and she couldn’t even ask Antonio where they were going, as his attention was now on his phone screen.
Having nothing else to do, she rested her head on the window and turned her attention to the road.
Her thoughts immediately took her to Jeremy, and she sighed, as that didn’t seem like a habit that would stop easily. She wanted revenge, but what was she going to do to get that revenge? She wondered.
Her family weren’t excluded from her revenge plan, as they too have been a fundamental part in Jeremy’s betrayal. They had hated her for a reason that wasn’t her fault for theirs, and she was sick and tired of it.
However, Zabelle realized that getting revenge on them was a long shot as they were rich and powerful, and she was a nobody.
Earlier, before finding out who Jeremy truly was, she had hoped to use his wealth and influence to get Antonio from disturbing her.
If she really wanted to bring her family and Jeremy down, she needed resources and the backing of someone powerful.
She subtly turned her head to look at Antonio, who was still busy with his phone. He seemed like the perfect bet, but there were many cons associated with him.
For starters, she didn’t know if he would help her and even if he did, it was going to come at a cost, one she wasn’t sure she

would be able to bear.
Plus, she was already indebted to him, even though it was against her will.
Zabelle didn’t realize that she had been continuously staring at Antonio until he lifted his head and their eyes met.
“Why not take a picture so it will last longer,” he rolled his eyes and her cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
Without saying anything to him, she turned her attention back to the road. After what seemed like forever, they arrived at what appeared to be a mansion.
She knew, as she had grown up in one. Were they at his house? She wondered as the car drove past the guards. More importantly, why would he bring her to his mansion?
Zabelle noticed that the mansion was larger than Jeremy’s parent’s mansion. This wasn’t good as it would take longer to get to the gates, she thought to herself in annoyance.
When they got to the mansion itself, Antonio immediately opened the door and got out of the car. Zabelle watched him walk away in horror, as he was meant to assist her with walking.
Having no other alternative, she opened the door and slowly got out of the car. As soon as she was, she used the car to balance herself.
Just as she was thinking of how to get into his mansion, she saw him do a three sixty as he began to make his way over to where she was.
Wordlessly, he lifted her once more and he started to walk. Antonio had wanted to leave her to struggle, which was the
reason why he had gotten out of the car without looking back, but he decided against it for an annoying reason which he himself didn’t know and went to help her.
When they got inside, he saw two people standing in his living room and a frown immediately appeared on his face as he wondered what they were doing there and more importantly, why did no one tell him they were there.
“Mum,” he called, and she turned to face him. The smile she had on her face immediately dropped when she noticed that he was carrying Zabelle in his arms.
He knew she was already asking a million questions in her head as to who Zabelle was and why she was in his arms.
His eyes darted to his father who although looked unfazed, he could see the questioning look in his eyes.
Zabelle’s eyes on the other hand widened in horror when she realized that the two people she was looking at were Antonio’s parents. Her mind unconsciously took her back to when Jeremy had introduced her to his parents officially and it was a bad
memory.
This didn’t look good, she thought to herself as she tried to get out of Antonio’s hands. She was dressed in his shirt and her thighs were visible. Plus, she was sure she looked like a mess.
He however refused to put her down and the colour drained from her face.
“What are you doing here?” Antonio inquired as he tightened his hold on the woman who was trying to get out of his arms. She had made him carry her, she wouldn’t decide when he would put her down.
“I miss my son. You never come home,” Alicia responded. “Aren’t you going to introduce us to your friend?” She finally touched on the subject, and Zabelle felt her blood go cold.
“Sure, mum,” Antonio responded as he finally put Zabelle down. However, due to the fact that she didn’t want to fall and embarrass herself in front of Antonio’s parents, she wrapped her hand around him and used him as support.
This action didn’t go unnoticed by Antonio’s parents, who turned to look at each other with a questioning look on their

faces.
“This is Zabelle, my fiancée,” Antonio responded, shocking everyone in the room.
Zabelle’s eyes widened in shock as she turned to look at Antonio Did he just say she was his fiancée?
