Chapter 21
Zabelle wondered where Antonio was taking her to, but she couldn’t as one she knew he wouldn’t answer her and two, she didn’t want to speak to him.
Wordlessly, she got into the car, after which Antonio closed the door. She saw him talking to a man dressed in a black suit which, if she was correct, was a guard, after which he turned and entered the driver’s seat.
“Didn’t anyone ever teach you to wear your seatbelt when you’re in a car,” Antonio broke the silence that had ensued between them.
“Of course they didn’t. Your family must have not allowed you to ride their cars so you wouldn’t know,” he said before she could say anything.
Upon hearing what he said, she became red with anger, and she didn’t stop herself from glaring at him. Although he hadn’t explicitly said it, she knew he knew who she was seeing as he knew about Jeremy.
The last thing she however expected was for him to use her sad childhood against her. He just kept up living up to the asshole title she had given him in her head.
Not to give him the benefit of a response, she turned and looked outside the window while refusing to fasten her seatbelt. She was going to before he spoke, but now she didn’t want to.
“Suit yourself,” she heard him say to her as he started the car. Her soul left her body when Antonio stepped on the accelerator and the car moved at a very high speed.
The way to the gates of the mansion was a straight road, but Antonio started swerving left and right, and soon after he started driving the car in a circle.
At first, she thought she would be able to handle it, but very quickly she became dizzy and the urge to puke her insides out hit her.
“Antonio, stop the car!” she gasped as she tried not to puke, but he didn’t listen to her as he continued to drive in a ci After about twenty seconds, he stopped the car and everything started spinning for Zabelle.
It took her some seconds to open the door and as soon as she stepped out, her body started swaying, which led her to fall to the ground.
Not caring about that, she dragged herself to the bush and finally emptied what she had for dinner the previous night.
After she was done, it took her over a minute to get herself to calm down and when she had finally gotten herself, she turned to look at Antonio who was staring ahead at the road.
As if feeling her gaze on him, he turned to look at her with a nonchalant expression. “When I tell you to do something, for your own sake, do it,” he simply said to her and the urge to cut out his tongue hit her.
“Get in,” he then said to her. When she didn’t immediately get up, he added.
“In case you don’t realize it, I’m in a car and I very much know how to drive it. If you don’t want to be accidentally hit by it, get in!” This time, his voice was firm, leaving her with no other option than to get into the car.
As soon as she was in, she fastened her seatbelt, and she saw the corner of Antonio’s lips curl into a smile. She clenched her fists as it was at her expense, but there was nothing she could do about it.
As soon as the door closed, he proceeded to continue driving and unlike before, he didn’t drive like a deranged maniac. Wanting to get her feelings of rage under control, she rested her head on the head rest and closed her eyes.

As soon as he was ready, he headed into the room where Zabelle was. The fool didn’t even realize when he walked it and it had taken her ten minutes after he sat to watch her to realize that fact
That little show of his was just the beginning as her life from that moment henceforth was going to be a rollercoaster and once he was done with her, he would discard her while making sure no one else would be able to pick her up.
Zabelle didn’t open her eyes for the rest of the ride, and he didn’t mind. When the car however stopped, she opened her eyes and upon seeing where they were, he saw the colour drain from her face before she turned to face him.
“What are we doing here?” She asked him, trying to feign innocence.
“You’re a terrible actress,” he said to her as he opened the door and got out.
No, it couldn’t be what she was thinking, Zabelle muttered inwardly. There was no way Antonio knew about this aspect of her life.
She broke out of her thoughts when there was a tap on the window. Knowing that it was because she was still in the car, she opened the door and got out of it.
“Come, there’s someone very special I would like you to meet,” Antonio told her as he began to walk into the building.
Maybe she was just overthinking it. It was, after all, it was an old age home and there was a possibility he had someone there as well,
When they got in, one of the workers there smiled upon seeing her as he recognized her. The smile however vanished when he noticed Antonio standing beside her.
“We’re here to see Meredith. Where is she?” He asked, and all of Zabelle’s doubt became cleared. He had indeed come h
for her.
“She’s out in the garden,” the worker responded.
“Do you need me to take you there?”
“That won’t be needed. Thank you,” Zabelle was the one who spoke, and the man walked away to continue his job. She made sure the worker was out of hearing range before she started to speak.
“Antonio, what are you…”
“Come, let’s go see Meredith,” Antonio cut Zabelle short. “Lead the way,” he said to her, and Zabelle did as he asked.
When they got out, they saw the elderly woman tending to the flowers, but neither Zabelle nor Antonio made a move to go
closer to the woman.
“Marry me without any drama or she and her family dies,” Antonio cut right to the chase.
