Antonio looked at the woman who was standing in front of him and he wondered if she was a fool to come to him when she clearly knew he was beyond pissed.
One would have thought that with what happened the first time she would learn not to even look at Jeremy talkless of being in the same space as him, but she didn’t.
He was however curious to know what she would say, and he stepped aside so she could come in.
Zabelle took a deep breath before stepping Into Antonio’s room. It was the first time she was in there, and it was just as gloomy and dull as she expected..
However, that wasn’t what was important, talking to Antonio was Turning to face him, she found him staring at her, and her legs further shook with fear.
“Can I clean your wound?” She asked him as she looked at the first aid kit in her hand.
“No, you may not. Get to it!” Antonio stated and she gulped. Bringing out her phone, she stretched it to him, but he didn’t take it. “This is a recording of the conversation that happened between Jeremy and me,” she told him.
“I didn’t want to speak to him, but he texted, saying he would show himself in front of your family and make a scene.” she explained.
She wasn’t dumb enough not to insure herself, as she didn’t trust Jeremy. Plus, she was going to tell Antonio about the fact that she spoke to Jeremy, as she didn’t want to risk him finding out from another source
“I didn’t want that to happen, and so I decided to see him. I promise, I was going to tell you about the whole thing, which is why I got the whole thing on recording”
Pausing to see if her words had any effects on him, she was unable to tell, as he was still looking at her with the stoic expression he always had.
He, however, reached out and finally took the phone from her. Without wasting time, he played the recording and listened to the entire conversation between her and Jeremy.
When the recording finished, he turned to face Zabelle. “So, do you believe him?” He asked her and Zabelle couldn’t provide an answer, which made him shake his head.
Just how stupid was she not to actually see that Jeremy was playing her? The narcissistic man must have been pissed she had ‘moved on after what he did to her and to make matters worse, it was with him.
“I don’t know, but even if I do believe him, it won’t make a difference as I can’t go back to him,” Zabelle stated.
Antonio had made sure to trap her regardless, and so there was no point in thinking about what Jeremy’s words were
Antonio wondered if it was a good time to let her know that the same man was the one who had ordered the hit on her. He quickly arrived at a decision and decided it wasn’t any of his business.
“You’re right. You’re stuck with me,” he nodded in agreement over her words.
“Am I going to get punished?” Zabelle asked the burning question she wanted to know the answer to
He seemed to have calmed down but Antonio was cruel when it came to these things and so, him calming down didn’t mean he had forgiven her.
“No.” Antonio stated bluntly, and she heaved a sigh of relief. “However, I’m hoping for your sake it won’t happen again. Stay the hell away from Jeremy, no matter what he says,” he told her, and she nodded.

“Good, now get out of my room!” Antonio ordered sharply, reminding Zabelle of how much he hated her
She didn’t need to be told twice, as she had gotten the answers to her questions, and so she left.
As soon as she was out, a deep frown made its way to Antonio’s face as he brought out his phone to make a call.

How the hell did Jeremy get access to Zabelle’s phone number when he had taken steps to ensure that no one would be able to easily get her number?
It was puzzling and he needed to find out.
Meanwhile, as soon as Zabelle left Antonio’s room, she rushed to hers and collapsed on the bed.
I made it out in one piece, she muttered to herself as she weaved her fingers through her hair. Doing this made her realize that she had worn her hair down, just like Antonio had asked her to do, and she hadn’t even realized it until that moment.
“Controlling jerk! Zabelle hissed in irritation as her mind took her back to the conversation she had with Jeremy.
Had their families really been what stood in the way of their relationship? She wondered. Her heart totally believed his words, but her mind was being logical about the situation.
There were many ways he could have contacted her and let her know what was going on, but he didn’t, leaving her wondering for two years.
Plus, even though his story seemed like a truthful story, she knew Jeremy well enough, and he didn’t look like the kind of person who would be threatened into doing what he didn’t want to do.
She remembered his words about how she had only been a bet, and his eyes didn’t look like he was lying about that,
But then again, her parents were well capable of doing such just to give Vanessa what she wanted. Zabelle sighed as she wasn’t getting any answers to her questions.
The further she thought about it, the further she got confused. Taking a deep breath, she decided that it wasn’t worth it as just as she told Antonio, it wouldn’t change anything.
He was
TOW with Vanessa, and she was out of the way.
Yawning, she grabbed her phone and decided to kill boredom with it. The first picture that greeted her was a herself alongside Alicia and Marceline.
Her mouth dropped open as she wondered how she didn’t notice she was being photographed.

Was this how it was? A month ago, no one knew who she was and now people were talking about her all because she was now Antonio’s fiancée.
Having been used to seeing her sister get this much attention, Zabelle could only imagine the look on Vanessa’s face upon seeing this.
Till now, no one seemed to have discovered that she was the first child of the Pierce family, which was one of the reasons why some netizens were still claiming she was a gold digger.
Before she could read more, a knock on her door distracted her
When she opened it, she saw Martha standing in front of the door, and she was there to inquire whether she was coming down for dinner or if she would like her dinner brought to her room-
Time away from Antonio always seemed like heaven and with what had happened that day, she didn’t hesitate in choosing the latter option:

“OMG, what happened to you?” Vanessa asked as she walked into Jeremy’s room. His left eye was currently bruised, and his cheeks were swollen. It was apparent that he had gotten into a fight but with whom? She wondered.
“Your sister and her fiancé happened.” Jeremy hissed in annoyance as he applied ointment to the bruises.
His eyes darkened as he remembered how Zabelle had put herself in harm’s way for that scoundrel
She used to do the same for him, and now she was doing it for another person
It felt strange to see that the attention she used to give him was now being given to Antonio when they had barely known each other for two months.
“What?!” He heard Vanessa yell and that brought him back to reality. “How dare she?!” Zabelle was getting bolder day by day. and it all started after she met Antonio.
He was the one who had been a knight in shining armour for her sister, as she knew she had broken Zabelle by taking Jeremy away from her. However, a month later, her sister was back on her feet
To make matters worse, she was stealing the attention away from her and Jeremy
Jeremy couldn’t help but roll his eyes at how useless the woman standing in front of him was. The only useful thing about her was her share in her family’s fortune, which would be beneficial to him.
“How can I be of help to you?” Vanessa asked Jeremy.
“Get your sister away from Antonio!” Jeremy immediately stated. “Now leave and come back when you have good news for me,” he dismissed Vanessa, who made her way out of his room.
