Chapter 54
Antonio stared at the message he had received from Zabelle with no emotion in his eyes and he closed the message without bothering to respond.
Turning, he grabbed the bottle of alcohol and poured himself a drink, gulping it down in one go.
After they had landed, he had taken Zabelle to his mansion after which he left, making sure not to sleep there as he wanted nothing to do with her.
He was currently in another house of his on the island, and he planned on staying there until their honeymoon was over.
The fact that he couldn’t do what he had intended to do initially, annoyed him, and it was all thanks to the stupid promise he had made.
Seeing that it had come to be that way, he decided to take another route, and that was to ignore Zabelle. The girl was lucky he wouldn’t punish her, but that was all she would get from him.
Picking up his phone once more, he proceeded to call Martin so he could release the two women he had kidnapped.

Gabriel paced around in his study as he waited for Zabelle to call him back. When his phone vibrated, he quickly checked it, and he saw that he had received a text from an unknown number.
‘Your daughter is outside the gates of the mansion,’ this was what the text read, and his eyes widened in excitement as he rushed to inform Lily about the text.
Without wasting time, the two headed outside the gate of their mansion and just like the text had read, Vanessa was outside. “Oh my goodness, Vanessa,” Lily rushed to her daughter, who was in a dazed form. “Come, let’s get you inside.”
They immediately led their daughter into the mansion, after which they made her sit.
“Did he do anything to you?” Lily asked her daughter, as if Antonio had, then there was no saving him from her. “Who?” Vanessa asked in confusion as she didn’t understand what they were talking about.
“Antonio? Did Antonio do anything to you?” Gabriel clarified and Vanessa shook her head.
“Antonio was responsible?” She inquired, shock written all over her face and her father nodded in affirmation. “He found out about the fact that I ordered for Zabelle’s kidnapping, and he took you as revenge,” her father stated.
It was a lot for Vanessa to process. She had been on her way to her house when she was taken by four masked men who knocked her unconscious.
When she woke up, she found herself tied up to a chair in an empty room. No one spoke to her or did anything to her. Twice a day a masked woman would enter the room, untie her and then give her food.
An irritated look made its way to her face as she remembered the disgusting food, but she had no choice but to eat it.
After what seemed like forever the man came to the room where she was kept and injected something into her which made her lose consciousness and when she woke up she found herself outside the gate of her family mansion.
At first, she had thought they kidnapped her for ransom due to the fact that she was the heiress to the Pierce family, but when nothing happened, she didn’t know what to think anymore at that point in time.

Learning that it was Antonio who was responsible definitely shocked her, and on top of that he kidnapped her because of Zabelle.
The fact that he did meant that he already rescued Zabelle, and she hissed in irritation over the fact that Jeremy couldn’t even find her for so many days.
Being in that dark room had made her loose track of time, and she didn’t know for how long she had been gone.
What kind of a useless man was he? And why did her sister have to get the man who cared and always fought for her? She wondered.
“Didn’t Zabelle know that Antonio took me?” She probed.
“She did, but she not only defended Antonio, but she went and got married to him,” Lily informed her.
“What?!” Vanessa exclaimed. “She actually got married to Antonio Garcia?!”
“Yes, she got married to him yesterday,” her mother affirmed, and she clenched her feast in anger. Zabelle being married to Antonio was going to be a big problem if she wanted to get Antonio to herself.
However, the bigger the challenge, the more fun she would have when she finally achieved her goal.
After all, she had managed to snatch Jeremy away from Zabelle. Antonio wasn’t going to be an issue.
One way or another, Antonio Garcia was going to be hers.

Zabelle paced the living room aimlessly as she stared at the door and then at her phone.
It was already nighttime, and she still hadn’t heard a word from Antonio. She had tried calling him even after he told her not to call him, but he didn’t answer.
The texts she had sent were also sitting in his DM without a response, and she was getting agitated over where he was.
He didn’t have to come home if he didn’t want to. All he had to do was to respond so she would know he was fine, but he wasn’t even doing that.
‘Stop ignoring me, Antonio!‘ she exasperated as she ran her fingers through her hair roughly.
Her stomach grumbled, reminding her that she hadn’t eaten all day, and she ignored it.
A helper had come around and informed her that meals had been prepped after which she left, but she had waited hoping Antonio would come home, but he didn’t.
Looking at her phone, she decided to text him one more time to see if he would finally respond.
‘Antonio, where are you? Just give me a sign that you’re okay, and I won’t disturb you anymore, she promised.

message
delivered, and so she knew he was online. She waited a few minutes for him to respond, and when he didn’t, she sat down on one of the sofas in the living room.
Why was she getting worried about a man who obviously hated her and didn’t bother to respond to her texts or pick her call.
She had allowed her feelings of hatred to become soft due to the fact that he had saved her on multiple occasions and had defended her in front of her family.
It was obviously her fault, as Antonio was clear from the onset. He had told her that he would not allow anyone to hurt her, and that he would do the hurting instead.
