Chapter 64
“Have you found out who is responsible for what happened to her?” Alejandro asked.
“No, Martin is already on it though,” Antonio responded. “What are the odds that it’s her family or Jeremy responsible for what happened. After all, I was the target and not her.”
All he needed was a confirmation that his suspicion was correct, and he would let all hell loose.
It wasn’t that hard to put two and two together. Her family thrived on making her life a living hell, and ever since he had arrived, he had prevented them from doing so.
They wanted control over her, and he was stopping them from doing just that. Their solution was simple: eliminate him and get control once again.

That would be easy, as Zabelle still had a spot soft for her family and would take whatever bullshit they gave to her.
“The odds are very high,” Alejandro reiterated his thoughts, and he sighed once again.
“When did the doctor say she would regain consciousness?” Alejandro asked.
“A few days if her body allowed her,” Antonio responded as he remembered the doctor’s words.
She had been through a lot in the past few weeks, and she needs a lot of time to recover from the stress.
Zabelle needing rest was very important but at least, he wanted her to regain her consciousness so he would be able to look her in the eye as he would tell her of his intention to burn her family to the ground.
“We’ll just have to wait then. She’s strong, she’ll recover,” Alejandro stated. “And when she does, I hope you’ll treat her better.”
Alejandro didn’t need to tell him that, as that was on the top of his to–do list when she finally opened her eyes.

“Get out, all of you!” Gabriel hissed in anger as he arrived at the house where his captive was being kept.
Seeing that their boss was in a terrible mood, they scrambled out of the place.
Gabriel didn’t waste any time in going to the basement to see the man he had come to see.
As soon as he got there, he grabbed a bat that was lying on the floor and started hitting the man with it, not bothering to exchange any pleasantries like he usually did.
By the time he was done with the man, he was a bleeding mess, and the only reason he had stopped was so the man wouldn’t die.
“Zabelle has to be the biggest curse in my life. The bastard actually took the bullet which was meant for Antonio!” Gabriel told the man who groaned and tried to move to attack him.
However, due to the fact that he had just been beaten, he could move his body.
“That girl better not die, as I am not done with her!” Gabriel hissed in annoyance.
As at that moment, he didn’t know whether Zabelle was alive or not. Antonio was making sure that no information about her got out, and it was annoying, as he needed to know.
However, something told him she was still alive as things would be different if she was dead. He didn’t know what exactly.

but he just knew that things would have been different.

The fact that he had tried to kill Antonio would mean that the latter would tighten his security, which would make it more difficult for him to try to do such again.
“And you better survive because you’re going to see more of my daughter’s downfall,” he told the man as he turned to leave.
His goal of taking out his anger was satisfied and now that was done it was time to get down to business and plan his next
step.
