Chapter 106
Zabelle watched as Antonio worked and she smiled as she adjusted her position on the sofa.
“You know, there’s a private room where you can rest comfortably,” he said to her without taking his eyes off his laptop, making Zabelle wonder if he had extra eyes.
“I’m okay here,” she responded. “I still find it hard to believe there’s a private room behind the wall,” she muttered as she glanced at the wall.
Earlier on, he had offered for her to stay in his private room and when she asked what it was, he said it was like an apartment and when she asked him to show her, she was blown away to see that he had indeed been right.
“First time seeing something like that?” Antonio chuckled and she nodded.
“Understandable,” Antonio remarked and his attention became divided when he received a text on his phone.
“Give me a minute, I’ll be right back,” he said as he stood up and left the room.
As soon as he left her phone buzzed on the nightstand and she reached for it, her stomach sinking when she saw the name on the screen.
Vanessa.
‘What does she want?‘ Zabelle asked herself as a deep frown immediately appeared on her face as she knew it wouldn’t be anything good.
She hesitated before answering, bracing herself for whatever Vanessa had to say. “Hello?”
“Good evening, big sister,” Vanessa’s sweet voice came on and Zabelle’s grip on the phone tightened. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
“What do you want, Vanessa? To cause more trouble” Zabelle asked, cutting straight to the point.
Vanessa laughed softly. “Always so direct. I just thought you’d like to know there’s a little… situation brewing. Something you might want to look into before it gets out of hand.
“What are you talking about?” Zabelle asked as she was confused
“Oh, you’ll see soon enough,” Vanessa said, her tone dripping with satisfaction. “Consider this a friendly warning from your darling sister. Have a nice evening.”
The line’went dead, leaving Zabelle staring at her phone in frustration.

‘What was that all about?‘ She asked herself just as the door opened once again and Antonio entered.
“What’s wrong?” He inquired when he noticed the frown on her face.
“Vanessa just called,” Zabelle informed him and his expression hardened.
“What did she say?”
“She said there’s a situation brewing,” Zabelle replied, her voice tight. “I don’t know what she means, but it can’t be good.”
Antonio’s jaw clenched, and he reached out for his phone. “I’ll make some calls, see if I can find out what’s going on. Can I deal with her now or do I have to hold on?” He asked.
“I already told you to do as you please with her,” Zabelle gave him the go–ahead once more.

“Wonderful,” he said as he began to make a call.
Zabelle watched him, a sense of unease settling over her.

Vanessa’s games were rarely straightforward, and her heart dipped as the last time she had played a game with her, it had resulted in Antonio getting drugged and her getting mad at him
Whatever it was, Vanessa was planning, she was sure it would be worse than her last game and all she could hope was that Antonio would handle it.
Back at Vanessa’s house, she and Jeremy sat at her dining table, finalizing the details of their plan.
Vanessa’s expression was one of pure satisfaction as she laid out the next steps.
“It’s simple,” she said, her voice filled with confidence. “We plant the seeds of doubt. A few well–placed rumors, some carefully orchestrated misunderstandings… and they’ll tear themselves apart.”
Jeremy frowned. “And what if that doesn’t work? Antonio’s not an idiot, and Zabelle trusts him blindly I mean look at what happened yesterday. She rushed to his defence”
Vanessa’s smile turned icy. “Oh, it’ll work. Trust me, Jeremy. Zabelle has a way of letting her insecurities get the best of her. All we have to do is give her a little push.”
Jeremy couldn’t help but agree. Zabelle had issues with her self–confidence which made it easy to manipulate her.
One thing was certain: they were about to unleash chaos in Antonio and Zabelle’s lives and boy would he be there to enjoy
- it.
