Chapter 36
“Sir, what can I get you? The bartender asked Antonio as he took his seat on one of the stools in front of the counter.
“Nothing. You can go,” Antonio responded as he waved to dismiss the bartender.
“What the hell are you doing here? Coming for part two?” Jeremy hissed under his breath as he gulped down the contents of his glass.
After he had sent Vanessa away, he had decided to go to a bar to have a drink and find a woman to fuck, but he didn’t expect that Antonio would come there.
“You and 1 are going to sit and have a little chat about why you keep harassing my woman,” Antonio responded.
Jeremy looked at Antonio, after which he laughed at his words. “Your woman?” He scoffed. “You and I both know that she’s not your woman, and she loves me!” He stated, and it was Antonio’s turn to chuckle.
“How narcissistic must you be to think she’d still love you after cheating on her with her sister?” Antonio asked. “You wasted two years of her life but don’t worry, I’ll take care of her from now on.”
“So, why are you here telling me that, if you’re sure she’s not in love with me?” Jeremy raised an eyebrow.
“Because of your little conversation with her earlier this evening Antonio responded.
It was time he put his plan on destroying Jeremy in motion, and what better way to do it than to play mind games with the fool.
“Are you still pissed that your woman‘ still meets me in private Jeremy tried to rile Antonio up,
“Not really, especially not when she tells me everything you two discussed. Really, was you were threatened into doing what you did‘ the best you could come up with?” Antonio tilted his head and he watched the smug look disappear from Jeremy’s face.
It was evident, he wasn’t expecting Zabelle to tell him what they discussed. The fool deserved a reward for doing what she
did.
“What? Were you
thinking she wouldn’t tell
He mocked, and Jeremy was unable to answer.
“Speaking of being threatened, did they also threaten you to send those two men after her?” Antonio continued, and event though Jeremy tried to put on a brave face, he saw the cracks in his demeanor.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Jeremy responded. He hadn’t personally hired the men, and so there was no way the whole thing could be traced back to him.
“Sure you don’t,” Antonio agreed with him. “But because I havent done anything to you yet for trying to get my woman killed doesn’t mean I won’t. So keep trying to rile me up, it will only quicken my revenge plan.”
“Is that supposed to scare me?” Jeremy rolled his eyes.
“No, it isn’t,” Antonio responded. “But I’d watch my back if I were you.” Those were his final words to Jeremy as he stood up. “Have a good night, Mr Norman. I hope to see you at the wedding” With that, he turned and left.
As soon as he was gone, Jeremy quickly brought out his phone to make a call.
That bastard was on to him, and he’d be damned if he let him win
As soon as Antonio stepped out of the club, he turned to the side to look at a man who was standing in the corner. Nodding in approval, he turned and left.

When morning came, Zabelle’s eyes fluttered open and she yawned. It was another day to prepare for a wedding, she wasn’t even interested in.
According to Alicia, they would be going to check out the dresses for the wedding, and the thought of it tired her already.
She reached out and grabbed her phone so she could check the time, and her eyes widened when she saw she barely had twenty minutes to get ready.
Not wanting to create another bad impression on Antonio’s mother, she rushed to get have her bath and get dressed.
When she was done, she stopped in her steps when she noticed a jewelry set on her dressing mirror. It was definitely not there the previous night, which meant that someone had come into her room to put it there.
Grabbing hold of it, her eyes widened with shock when she saw that it was the same jewelry set Antonio had put a bid for at the auction.
It couldn’t possibly be for her, as there was no way he would spend that much, especially as he hated her.
When he had bought it, she thought it would go to his mother or someone else, not her. Without wasting time, she grabbed the box in which it was kept in and headed to Antonio’s room.
Luckily, she met him halfway on her way there. “I saw this in my room,” she said as she showed him the box.
Antonio took one glance at it, after which he looked at her again this time with a questioning look on his face. “Was it supposed to be in mine?”
“N–no!” Zabelle shook her head. “What I meant to say is that there must be some kind of mistake. This isn’t mine,” she became clearer.
“My goodness,” Antonio massaged his temple as he could feel a headache coming with just how dumb Zabelle was
“You’re really dumb!” He remarked as he walked past her to head downstairs.
“Antonio, wait!” Zabelle called as she ran after him. He stopped when he reached the stairs, and he turned to face her once again.
“What is it, woman?” He hissed in irritation.
“Did you buy this for me?” Zabelle inquired, as that was the only conclusion she could draw from his words and expression.
“Congratulations, you deserve a medal for finally figuring it out, he rolled his eyes and her mouth dropped at having been proven right
“But why? You don’t even like me,” Zabelle stated. Who in their right mind would spend two million dollars on someone they hated.
“Because you wanted it. That was Antonio’s simple answer as he proceeded to leave.
However, Zabelle, still not satisfied with his answer, made an attempt to stop him. This resulted in her losing her balance and tripping onto the stairs.
“Ah!” She screamed in horror as her soul left her body. Before she could however tumble down the stairs, Antonio reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her back effortlessly.
Even though she was fine, the adrenaline still hit her like crazy and so, Zabelle wrapped her hands around him and held onto Antonio like her life depended on it.

Antonio frowned when he realized how close she was to him. Did she think he was an angel to be clutching to him so tightly!
“You know, the thought of pushing you down the stairs if you don’t let go of me, sounds inviting,” he told her and that managed to knock Zabelle back to reality,
“Don’t,” she whispered to him. She was still in the danger zone and if she let go of him, there was a huge possibility she would fall.
Her breath hitched in throat when she saw his eyes trail down to her lips. Why did it suddenly feel so hot? She wondered.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the two lovebirds,” she heard Alicia’s voice from below, and she slowly turned to see the older woman looking at them with a huge smile on her face.
Something told her the woman was their biggest fan, and she wondered just how much Antonio must have stressed his mother for her to be happy with anything and everything they did
“I’m so sorry for being late,” Zabelle apologized as she turned to Antonio so he would at least move back a little to enable her to be able to stand straight, but Antonio did no such thing
“Step back!” She said loudly so he would do so.
“Not without my morning kiss,” Antonio responded, and she looked at him as though he was mad.
Seeing that he was being unreasonable, she proceeded to step down, but he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her back to
him.
“You better tell your daughter–in–law to give me my morning kiss, or I’m not letting her go,” Antonio said to his mother without breaking eye contact with her.
“No!” Zabelle refused without waiting for Alicia to speak. She was not going to allow him to use his mother to get what he wanted.
“Fine, I’ll take it from you myself.”
And with those words, Antonio lowered his head towards her before capturing her lips with his, taking her by surprise.
Zabelle’s heart pumped faster, blood coursing through her veins, and her body started to turn weak as the initial fight she had put on started to vanish.
She felt him taste her, capturing her upper lip. He sucked and nibbled it playfully until it was tender under his touch.
She had never been kissed like this before, and it did indescribable things to her.
Not knowing what to do with her hands, Zabelle placed it on Antonio’s chest, feeling not only the fabric of his shirt but also the firmness of his muscular chest.
It felt like the air had been knocked out of her lungs, where he continued to kiss her.
One of Antonio’s hands left her waist, and it moved to the back of her neck, holding it as he angled her face for him.
Zabelle’s eyes which had momentarily closed opened when he pulled his lips away from her.
He had a burning look in his eyes, and before she could come back to her senses, she saw him part his lips.
Before it touched hers, she noticed the way his tongue peeked out and slipped into her own for another kiss, this time much deeper than the last one.
She had never drunk too much alcohol, but she wondered if this was how it felt to be intoxicated because that was what

Antonio was doing to her.
She could barely reason between right and wrong, not questioning their actions as if it didn’t matter. She didn’t even remember about Alicia at that point.
Gasps escaped from her lips, and heavy breathing filled up the quiet atmosphere.
He tasted warm, and the kiss turned fiery like burning charcoal is other hand traced from her waist to move towards her back, moving it upwards in a sultry motion while he kept her busy.
Her lips felt numb until she felt him nip, and a moan slipped past her lips just as he let her go.”
She blinked when something flashed at her and when Zabelle turned she realized that it was because Alicia had taken at photo of the two of them.
“This is definitely going to be on all my social media accounts,” Alicia remarked as she looked at the photo, and the color drained from Zabelle’s face.
“Send it to me. I want to do the same!” Antonio told his mother, and the colour further drained.
