Chapter 6
Far away
Zabelle sighed when she arrived at her apartment building. The day had started out fairly well but now, it was going to end terribly. She paid the taxi driver after which she got out of the car.
All she wanted to do was wallow away in sadness, and she started to make her way into the apartment building.
“Well, took you long enough,” she heard a familiar voice saying to her, one she hadn’t heard in months. Turning, she found herself staring at her younger sister.
Did the universe really hate her for sending her younger sister to her? Just when she thou

“Can’t I just pay my older sister a visit?” Vanessa asked innocently but Zabelle knew more than to fall for her tricks.
Her little sister was a devil who would trick people into thinking she was innocent before stabbing them in the back.
“We haven’t seen each other in months so no, you can’t just pay me a visit,” Zabelle responded just as she got outside her apartment door.
She quickly opened the door and attempted to shut the door in her sister’s face, but Vanessa already envisioned that she would do that, and so she quickly stepped inside.
“Wow, this is where you live,” she immediately began to scrutinize her elder sister’s apartment.
“Not all of us depend on ‘daddy’s‘ money,” Zabelle snapped in irritation. “What do you want?” she inquired once more.
“Jeremy has returned,” she heard her sister inform and Zabelle paused in her steps.
“W–what?” She turned to face Vanessa. That was a name she hadn’t heard of in two years.
“Yes, his parents are throwing a party to welcome him back tomorrow, and you’ve been invited,” Vanessa informed her sister. “Are you coming or not? I need to give a response to Dad.”
“Why is Dad interested in whether or not I‘
going to be there?” Zabelle squinted her eyes.
“I don’t know. He simply asked me response,” Vanessa shrugged nonchalantly.
o get you
“I’ll be there, now get out,” Zabelle gave a response.
“Gladly.” Vanessa turned to leave. “You really should consider coming back but then again, you’re getting uglier and I get to keep being the beautiful sister so do you, boo.”
Those were her sister’s last words to her before she left. As soon as she was gone, Zabelle immediately locked her apartment after which she sat to take in the news she had just received.
Jeremy was back! It had been two years since she last saw him, and it felt surreal to know he was back.
She was however pissed that he had broken his promise and not contacted her. He didn’t even respond when she tried contacting him. To top it all off, he didn’t even contact her to let her know he was back.
However, as mad as she was at him, she kept her promise of waiting for him, and she would get the explanation of why he ghosted her for so long.
‘Soon,’ she told herself.

Not being able to handle the excitement, she brought out her phone to search for him online as that was the only way she could be updated about what was going on with him.
True to Vanessa’s words, she saw that Jeremy had returned as he was trending. She had been so caught up with everything that happened earlier and this made her not to check her phone
Just as she scrolled down, her heart skipped a beat when she read a headline from one of the gossip pages.
It was stated that apart from returning home, the famous bachelor had finally found a woman holding and attached were unclear photos of Jeremy holding hands with a woman who was definitely not her.
A frown then made its way to her face as she scrolled through the pictures. Even though was Jeremy.
She had promised to wait for him and she kept her promise. Did he not? She asked herself.
