Zabelle out at the dining table, a plate of untouched food in front of her. She didn’t have the appetite to eat anything, not after all that had happened.
Meanwhile, Martha stood in a corner, clearly concerned but too polite to say anything.
After some time passed with her still not touching her plate of food, the helper finally spoke. “Ma’am, is the food not to your liking”
“It is Zabelle sighed as she finally picked up her started cating. Every bite Zabelle took was heavy, and it took a lot of effort for her to swallow and keep the food in her stomachs it was a churning pit of uncertainty.
Her father? Responsible for the attack?
Antonio’s words rang loud in her mind, clashing with memories of her childhood. Gabriel Pierce was cruel and cold, yes- but orchestrating her attack? Trying to kill Antonio?
She couldn’t reconcile that with the man who was her father. She didn’t think he was that evil.
No, she couldn’t stomach any more food. Pushing her plate aside Zabelle rose abruptly.
“Ma’am? Martha immediately stepped forward.
“I’m fine; Martha, I just need some air,” she murmured. Not waiting for Martha’s reply, she turned and headed upstairs to
her room.
The mansion was suffocating, and she needed to get out of it as she had been cooped up inside it, but before she did, she needed to take a bath.
When she got to her room, she was shocked to see her closet empty. Where did all her clothes go? Zabelle asked herself.
She closed her eyes in resignation as a guess came to her head. She prayed she was wrong as she made her way to Antonio’s
TOOM
Sure enough, when she entered his closet, she saw all of her clothes there. Letting her mind wander for a bit, she admired how large his closet was much bigger than hers.
Zabelle quickly snapped out of her thoughts, and she grabbed a simple floral dress. This will do, she muttered to herself as she headed to have her bath.
“Ma’am?” A guard approached her when she stepped out of the mansion. “Are you heading out?*
“Yes,” Zabelle nodded, not knowing what else to say as that was the first time she was seeing the guard.
“Please hold on, ma’am, let me get the car,” the guard told her as he proceeded to do so.
When the car came, Zabelle’s eyes widened in horror, as it was too much. There were six cars, and they were all flashy cars, She was just going to a coffee shop to cool her head and not for war.
“This is too much; I only need one car,” she told the guard who spoke to her earlier.
“I’m sorry, ma’am, this is sir’s order,” the man responded, and she hissed in annoyance. Without wasting time, she turned to the side to call Antonio.
She didn’t know if he would answer her call, but she had to try regardless. “Hello,” his voice came on just as the call was about to drop.

“Antonio, I’m about to go nay, and I’m seeing six cars, she informed him and waited for his response.
“Your point being?”
They are too much. I intend to keep a low profile, and those can do the opposite. Please reduce them,” she pleaded and there was silence on the other side of the line, after which the call got disconnected.
This left her wondering whether he had accepted her request of hot.
Her question got cleared in the next minute as the guard receive a call from Antonio. As soon as he was done with his car, all the other cars backed away, leaving her with the one she was ride in.
Heaving a sigh of relief, she got into the car, and the guard closed the door.
“Where to, ma’am?” he asked after he got into the passenger seat and she didn’t waste any time in giving him directions, after which they were on their way.
Unknown to Zabelle, even though she was riding in one car, two others were following them while keeping their distance
from them.
The bustling streets of the city were a welcome distraction, and due to the fact that it was already evening, it looked more beautiful.
The little coffee shop was warm and inviting, with wooden furniture and soft music playing in the background. It was just as she remembered it.
It was a shop she had found during one of her office tasks, and one she had instantly fallen in love with.
Too bad, due to all that had been happening, she had gone there in a while.
Without wasting time, she ordered a latte and found a small table by the window. As Zabelle sipped her coffee, she tried to let her thoughts settle as she watched the cars pass.
The atmosphere was calm, as there were hardly any customers, and so she felt at peace..
But the calm didn’t last long, as the door to the shop opened and a strange–looking woman who had a scarf draped over her with a mask and sunglasses walked in.
Was she here to kill her? Zabelle asked herself.
The guard, who had been sitting at a different table, immediately moved to her side, and his hand moved inside his jacket as the woman closed in on them.
Zabelle heaved a sigh of relief when she passed her table to another table. However, the woman turned to face her, and she immediately moved to her table.
“Zabelle? Is that you?” Zabelle heard a familiar voice, and she tapped her guard to relax.
“I know her,” she stated.
“Nivera,” Zabelle said, surprised. “What are you doing here, and why are you dressed like trouble?”
“I could ask you the same thing,” Nivera replied as she looked outside the window. “I’m running away from my father’s
men
Remind me of your last name again.” Zabelle requested, even though Nivera never told her her last name.
“Elton,” the guard beside her answered, and Nivera immediately shot him the middle finger.
