Chapter 140
The morning sunlight streamed through the sheer curtains, casting a soft, golden glow across the room.
This made Zabelle stir slowly, and her eyes fluttered open.
She was met with the sight of Antonio’s broad chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm beside her.
Her cheeks instantly flushed as the memories of the night before flooded back to her in vivid detail, one that was definitely R-
rated.
Goodness! She exasperated in her head as the memories made the heat rush all the way to her core which was still sore all thanks to Antonio.
He wasn’t joking when he said he was an insatiable beast and all thanks to the weeks he hadn’t gotten any action, it was worse.
Zabelle couldn’t believe she actually took in all that it gave her, and it made her mortified.
She shifted slightly, and it made her realize she was completely bare under the sheets.
However, her body didn’t feel sticky, and she wondered if Antonio had cleaned her up before he went to bed. He did make
mention of it.
Her heart raced as she felt the heat of his skin and his arm draped possessively over her waist as he stirred slightly.
Oh, God.
Those same hands had held her down and choked her neck as he pounded in and out of her last night.
Zabelle bit her lip, her cheeks turning a deeper shade of red as her gaze wandered to his face.
The sharp lines of his jaw, the slight stubble gracing his chin, and the relaxed, handsome expression made her stomach flutter.
He hadn’t shaved in a while, and she could help but admit he looked handsome even with the stubble.
Zabelle remembered how those were the first thoughts that hit her when she met Antonio for the first time in that elevator.
He was so handsome and for the first time, she had paid attention to someone other than Jeremy even though it was slight at
the time
She hesitated for a moment before slowly reaching out, her fingers brushing against his cheek.
His skin was warm, and the subtle roughness of his stubble sent a tiny jolt through her fingertips.
She couldn’t suppress the smile that appeared on her lips as she traced the edge of his jaw, marveling at how calm and peaceful he looked at that moment.
“Damn, you’re so handsome, and I’m lucky to have such a handsome husband,” she whispered softly.
She wouldn’t dare say it to him when he was awake as it would get to his head and he would never let her hear the end of it. He was already cocky as it was.
“Why say it while I’m asleep?” came Antonio’s deep, husky voice, and it startled her.
Zabelle froze, her fingers still on his check, as his eyes opened to meet hers.
They were sharp. There was no way they could be so sharp if he was just waking up. The colour of her cheeks deepened as she felt the embarrassment creeping in.
“Y–you’re awake?” she stuttered, her face heating as she tried to pull her hand back, but Antonio caught it midair, his larger hand engulfing hers.
“Have been for a while now,” he replied, his lips curving into a lazy, satisfied smile.
Chapter 140
“Watching you admire me is a pretty great way to start the day.”
Zabelle hissed, her face turning crimson as she tried to wriggle free from his grasp. This was what she was talking about.
The grin on his face was something that annoyed her, especially when it was at her expense.
*I wasn’t admiring your” she lied, glaring at him as she refused to let go of the last shred of dignity she had.
And don’t say things like that!”
Antonio chuckled, and the sound sent a shiver down her spine.
“Why not? It’s the truth. You were admiring my handsome face. Don’t mind me, go back to doing so.”
Her embarrassment increased, and she slapped his chest lightly. “Antonio!” she scolded, trying to sound stern but failing miserably
Before she could say more, Antonio tugged her closer, pulling her flush against him.
She gasped as his arm tightened around her waist and his lips found her temple. “You’re cute when you’re flustered,” he
murmured.
Zabelle groaned and buried her face in his chest, too embarrassed to meet his gaze.
Antonio’s laughter rumbled through his chest as he gently rolled her onto her back, pinning her beneath him.
“Don’t hide from me,” he said softly, as he brushed a strand of hair from her face. He wanted to see everyone expression of hers, no matter how embarrassing she considered them.
“You’re laughing more,” Zabelle remarked.
Unlike the cold and evil laugh which he used to let out during the earlier days of their relationship, the laughter was something that was now genuine.
“Well, that’s because I have a reason to laugh,” Antonio responded.
“Antonio..” she started, her voice barely above whisper, but whatever she was going to say was lost when he leaned down and captured her lips in a kiss,
Her body reacted instinctively, and her hands moved to grabbed in his hair as he deepened the kiss, his lips moving with a fervor that left her breathless.
She knew she was supposed to protest as she was still sore from last night, but as his hands caressed her sides and his kisses traveled to her neck, all logical thoughts fled her mind.
“Do you mind if …
“No, I don’t,” she answered impatiently, not even allowing him to finish asking his question, which made a chuckle escaped from Antonio’s mouth.
“You’re turning into a little vixen,” he muttered as he captured her lips once more.
“Aren’t you going to eat? Zabelle heard Antonio ask her, and she glanced, at the plate of eggs and toast in front of her. They were currently at the dinning table and Antonio sat at the head of the table, looking annoyingly smug as he buttered a
slice of bread.
She glared at him, her fork stabbing at her food with unnecessary force as she was trying to drive a point.
Antonio, blinked at her innocently, and he raised an eyebrow at her, his lips twitching as though he were holding back a laugh. The nerve of him!
Chapter 140
“What?” he finally asked, breaking the silence.
Zabelle’s glare intensified. “You said one round!” she snapped, pointing her fork at him accusingly.
Antonio’s expression remained infuriatingly calm as he chewed his food. “I don’t recall saying that,” he shrugged casually. “You implied it!” she huffed, her cheeks turning pink. “And yet, here I am, sore and barely able to walk because of you!”
When he had asked her, she had thought he would be on his way after one round, but he wasn’t, and he still took her while they were showering together.
Showering together! The thought made her bite her lips as that was the first time they had showered together, and she loved
- it.
Antonio’s lips twitched again, and this time, he didn’t bother hiding his grin.
“You didn’t seem to mind at the time.” he said in a teasing voice. “In fact, I think your exact words were…”
“Don’t you dare!” Zabelle interrupted, her face flaming as she threw her napkin at him.
It was his fault for making her ask for more. What was she supposed to do when he was inside her? Reject him?
Antonio caught the napkin easily and his laughter filled the room.
“Alright, alright.” he said, holding up his hands in surrender. “But for the record, you were the one who pulled me back in this morning.
Zabelle’s jaw dropped as she retorted, “I did not!”
Antonio smirked, leaning back in his chair as he crossed his arms. “Oh, sweetheart, you definitely did.”
She groaned, covering her face with her hands as she muttered, “I’m going to kill you.”
Antonio’s chuckle was warm, and she peeked through her fingers to see him watching her with that soft, adoring look that made her heart skip a beat.
Goodness, she still couldn’t believe that he was in love with her..
“Good luck with that,” he said, his voice full of affection. “But if you want to try, I suggest waiting until you can stand without wincing.”
Zabelle glared at him again, but he caught her off guard by leaning in and kissing her lips.
Despite her embarrassment and soreness, she couldn’t deny the warmth spreading through her chest as she loved it whenever Antonio kissed her.
He became distracted when his phone vibrated on the table and upon picking it up, she saw a slight frown appeared on his face after which his expression returned to normal.
If she hadn’t been paying attention she would have missed it.
She wanted to ask him if there was something wrong, but she didn’t want to risk having him not tell her and ruin the beautiful thing that was happening between them.
“Zabelle,” he called, and she turned to look at him.
“I have something important to take care of right now, and it has to do with Gabriel. When I get back, I’ll tell you all about it, I promise,” he said to her, and she couldn’t stop the smile that appeared on her face.
It didn’t seem like it was something big, but to her, it was as Antonio was letting her in.
“Okay,” she nodded.
“I’ll go see my dad before coming home,” he continued.
