Chapter 157
Antonio leaned back in his chair, his dark eyes fixed on Martins, his head of security, as he delivered the report
He was currently at his base after dropping Zabelle off at where her shoot was holding and now that she wasn’t there with him, all his demons had finally come oUL
The place he was currently in was where a lot of his enemies had been brought to and tortured before they were killed, and he was itching to bring someone there.
The room was dimly lit, the glow of a single desk lamp casting sharp shadows on Antonio’s face. His jaw tightened with every word Martins spoke.
“Gabriel has a meeting scheduled for later this evening Martins informed him, sliding a tablet across the desk,
“It’s in the Corel Towers downtown. Penthouse suite. He’ll be discussing finances with his associates. High–level security, but I’ve already scoped out the building
Antonio picked up the tablet, his sharp gaze scanning
ning the information. “Is there a pattern to his movements after the meeting?”
Martins nodded. “He usually spends some time in the penthouse before heading to the private parking garage. There’s a service elevator that he uses exclusively.”
Antonio’s lips curled into a cold smirk. “Perfect.” He leaned forward, the intensity in his eyes enough to make even Martins shift uncomfortably. “We’ll need access to that elevator. Have a jammer ready to shut it down when I need it, and make sure you take care of the cameras if there are
Gabriel had forgotten who he was when he pointed the gun at his w
woman, and it was time to remind him that he didn’t play with those he loved The bastard had a lot of audacity after what he had done to Zabelle and the family he had snatched from her. This was what happened when no one was there to check such people, but that was changing.
Zabelle was coming around, and it was much faster than he had expected. However, he was done waiting for her.
Shr
was more than allowed to take her own pace in coming to realization of what had happened, but when she was done, she would meet him in the center.
“Understood, sir.” Martins paused, hesitating for a moment. “Are you sure e you want to do this yourself? I can.
“No,” Antonio interrupted, his tone leavi
tone leaving no room for argument. “This is personal,”
No one was going to snatch him of the right to hurt Gabriel
He rose from his chair, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt.
His movements were calculated, each one oozing a dangerous confidence. “Gabriel pointed a gun at my wife. That alone is a death sentence.” Martins gave a short nod, understanding the gravity of Antonio’s words. “I have the team ready for backup if things go south” “They won’t, you can be rest assured of that/ Antonio’s tone was sharp, final.
Later that evening. Antonio stood in the shadows near the entrance of Corel Towers, his dark suit blending seamlessly into the night. The building loomed above him, its sleek glass windows reflecting the city lights. He adjusted the earpiece connected to Martins, “Gabriel’s on the move,” Martins‘ voice came through. “He’s just entered the building. He’ll be in the main elevator in two minutes”
Antonion
moved swiftly, entering through the side entrance where Martins had already bypassed security.
His movements were deliberate, his demeanor calm, but beneath
h it all was a simmering rage that burned hotter with every step.
He reached the lobby just as Gabriel stepped into the elevator, flanked by two men
Antonio remained hidden behind a column, watching as the men exchanged a few words before steppin
“Mardis,” Antonio murmured into the earpiece. “Shut down the cameras in the main elevator.”
stepping out and leaving Gabriel alone.
“Done. Now move,

Chapter 157
He didn’t need to be told twice as he quickly began to make his way over there.
The elevator doors began to close, and Antonio slipped through them just in time, his presence startling Gabriel, who instinctively reached for the gun at his side.
However, Antonio was much faster as he already had his gun pointed at Gabriel
“You don’t want to do that,” Antonio said coolly, his voice low and dangerous.
Gabriel’s hand paused, his eyes narrowing as he took in Antonio’s presence. “Garcia. What a surprise. Didn’t think you had the guts directly
the guts to confront me
Antonio’s lips twitched into a cold smile as he knew Gabriel was just trying to put on a brave front. The man was scared shitleys. “I’m full of surprisesTM
Gabriel’s confidence wavered for a moment, but he quickly masked it with a sneer. “What do you want, Garcia? A last–ditch attempt to scare me
Antonio didn’t answer. Instead, he reached for the elevator’s control panel, pulling out a small device that Martins had provided.
With a flick of a switch, the elevator jolted to a stop, the lights flickering ominously.
Gabriel’s hand flew back to his gun, but Antonio was faster.
In a blur of motion, he grabbed Gabriel’s wrist, slamming it against the wall and forcing him to drop the weapon.
Before Gabriel could react, Antonio had him pinned against the elevator wall, his elbow pressing dangerously against Gabriel’s throat and his other hand holding up his gun against the bastard’s cheek.
“You pointed a gun at my wife,” Antonio hissed, his voice filled with venom. “Did you think I’d let that go?”
Gabriel struggled against Antonio’s grip, his face reddening as he gasped for air. “She’s nothing to me,” he choked out.
Antonio’s eyes darkened, his grip tightening. Too bad. She’s everything to me.
Gabriel’s hand failed, reaching for anything that could give him leverage. His fingers brushed against his gun, but Antonio was quicker, as he threw ir across the elevator with a sharp motion.
“You’ve made a lot of enemies, Gabriel, Antonio continued, his voice eerily calm, “But threatening my woman‘ That was your biggest mistake” Gabriel’s gaze was wild, desperate, but Antonio didn’t relent. He leaned in closer, his face inches from Gabriel’s.
“Do you know what happens to men like you?” Antonio whispered, his voice deadly. “They think they’re untouchable until someone like me comes along”
Gabriel mustered what strength he had left, managing to force out a bitter laugh. “You think killing me.. will solve anything! There are others. More powerful than you.
Antonio smirked, a dangerous glint in his eyes. “Let them come. I’ll deal with them the same way I’m dealing with you”
With a sudden burst of strength, Gabriel twisted out of Antonio’s grip, shoving him backward. He lunged for the gun, but Antonio was ready.
He caught Gabriel by the collar, slamming him back against the wall with a force that left the man dazed.
“You’re predictable,” Antonio sneered, his hand closing around Gabriel’s throat once more.
Gabriel’s breathing became strained and the false confidence he had put on started crumbling as he realized he was outmatched. “You won’t get way with this,” he rasped
Antonio leaned in, his voice a low growl, “I already have.”
With one final motion, Antonio released Gabriel, letting him collapse to the floor, gasping for air.
“I’m not going to kill you, Antonio sal, his voice cold. “Not yet. You’re going to live with the fear of knowing that I’m always watching but not knowing when I strike. And the next time you even think about hurting Zabelle, I won’t be so merciful
The elevator jolted back to life, the lights flickering on as it began to ascend Antonio stepped back, adjusting his cuffs as if nothing had happened.
When the doors opened, Gabriel remained on the flour, coughing and clutching his throat as Antonio stepped out without a backward glance
“Everything okay, sir!” Martins‘ voice came through the earpiece after the elevator doors had closed
Antonio’s lips curled into a faint smile. “Better than okay.”
Without wasting time, he exited the building and as soon as he was out, Martins approached him.
Holding the door open. Antonio got into the car after which Martins followed suit.
“Say Martins, what would happen if we tipped off the fed about one of Gabriel’s many crimes?”
“It’s been long overdue sir, just give me the order!” Antonio heard Martins say and he chuckled evilly
“Soon, Martins Antonio intended to say more, but he was distracted when his phone vibrated.
Bringing it out, he saw that it was Zabelle texting and just like that, his bad mood vanished, and he smiled widely as he read the message.
“Come get me. I messed up, and I’m a failure,” was what the message read, and a frown immediately made its way to Antonio’s face.
