Everyone in the room was stunned for a moment before erupting into thunderous applause. Even the typically reserved and stoic business tycoons began to cheer like enthusiastic youths, shouting, “Say yes! Say yes!”
At that moment, no one gave credence to Diana’s slander.
I covered my mouth as tears streamed down my face,
Sebastian looked worried. “What’s wrong? Was my timing inappropriate?”
Lshook my head and threw myself into his arms.
Never in my life did I think that flashing police lights and blaring sirens could be so romantic.
The news of the Sanders family’s arrest shocked the entire city of San Francisco, dominating headlines for an entire week.

A Fake Poverty that My Parent Build for Me
The news of the Sanders family’s arrest shocked the entire city of San Francisco, dominating headlines for an
entire week.
Rumor had it that once in police custody, Rianne, once doted upon by the family, wasted no time distancing herself. She told the authorities that she was merely an adopted daughter and had never been involved in the family’s affairs, claiming her relationship with them was superficial at best.
After her release, Rianne vanished without a trace, severing all ties with the Sanders family.
Joseph and Diana, on the other hand, bore the brunt of the legal consequences. For charges including attempted murder, arson, and intentional harm, they were each sentenced to twenty years in prison.
As for Julian, he was eventually released. But by the time he walked out of the detention center, the Sanders family had already declared bankruptcy. Reportedly, he was hounded by creditors and forced to take on menial jobs to pay off debts. To survive, he accepted any work, no matter how dirty or grueling.
I paid little attention to these developments. My focus was entirely on my upcoming wedding to Sebastian.
He had planned a grand ceremony, one befitting a fairy tale. On that day, he stood tall and handsome, like a
prince from a storybook, while I, dressed in a pure white wedding gown, became his princess.
Halfway through the wedding, I spotted a disheveled, gaunt waiter with a scruffy beard. One glance was enough
to recognize him–it was Julian.
He lurked in the background, his demeanor suspicious and sinister.
I immediately informed Sebastian, who, along with the security team, quickly apprehended him.
From his belongings, they discovered a vial of lethal poison.
As the police took Julian away, he hurled curses at me.
I smiled at him calmly. “Poisoning charges will likely earn you at least ten years. Julian, is this your wedding gift
to me? Thank you–I truly appreciate it.”
At that moment, Julian’s face went pale, his body seemingly drained of all life.
The wedding proceeded without a hitch.
A year later, Sebastian and I welcomed a beautiful baby into our lives.
Aunt Zamara moved in with us, leaving her job at the bathhouse. She spent her days happily playing with the little one, finding joy in every giggle and coo.
One day, as the sunlight poured into our cozy living room, the TV interrupted with breaking news. A police operation had cracked down on illegal activities, and among those apprehended were numerous women in the
trade.
The camera panned briefly, and I caught a glimpse of Rianne among them.
It seemed that after leaving the Sanders family, her extravagant spending habits had not changed. In her desperation to maintain her lifestyle, she had turned to selling her body.
I switched off the TV and gently picked up my baby.
The warm sunlight bathed his tiny face, and in that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of contentment.
My life of happiness and peace had only just begun.
