Chapter 6
The police showed their badges, scanning the crowd and then looking inside the room at Eleanor and the men.
“Hello, we suspect illegal prostitution activities happened here. Please come with us.”
Eleanor stared at the police in disbelief and hastily began to explain,
“Officer, you’ve misunderstood. We haven’t done anything illegal. They’re all my friends!”
The police didn’t believe Eleanor’s weak explanation and insisted on taking everyone away.
Eleanor turned to the people behind her, her eyes filled with anger.
“Who is it? Who called the police after I said no one was allowed to? Who reported us?”
None of the relatives said anything, and Eleanor’s gaze turned to the hotel staff member.
She rushed forward, grabbed the staff member by the collar, and shouted, “Was it you? Tell me, was it you who called the police? Why are you so nosy?”
The staff member trembled and shook their head, stuttering, “It wasn’t me. I wanted to report it, but I hadn’t had the chance to call yet!”
“Then who was it?”
“It was me! Eleanor!”
I stepped out from behind the staff member, disappointment written all over my face as I looked at Eleanor.
Eleanor and her companions were taken away to the police station.
The relatives scattered, but Claire refused to go home.
She insisted on going to the police station to stay with her daughter.

At the police station, Eleanor insisted that the men were her friends but couldn’t recall
their names.
She had always referred to them as Monday and Tuesday, never bothering to remember their real names.
The police also found large transfers of money between Eleanor and the men in their chat records.
Soon, their relationship was classified as illegal sex work.
However, since the men were able to clearly state Eleanor’s full name and personal details, the case became complicated.
In the end, they were held for seven days at the station, fined, and released.
However, Eleanor was left with a permanent record.
After being released, Eleanor rushed home to find me, her eyes filled with a complex look.
I quickly handed her a piece of paper.
“Eleanor, let’s get a divorce.”
Eleanor took the paper, her expression turning frantic. She urgently grabbed my pants leg, blocking my path.
“Honey, listen to me. It’s not what you think. I swear, I won’t contact them again!! promise, I really won’t!”
She continued with her weak, empty excuses.
“Honey, please don’t divorce me. I beg you!
“I’ll do anything! I’ll give you money, I’ll transfer you two hundred thousand dollars! I’ll transfer it right now!”
As she spoke, she hurriedly reached for her phone, but I grabbed her arm.
“Eleanor, not everything can be bought with money. Stop tarnishing the love I had for you.
“This is the second time I’ve caught you cheating. How many times did it happen when I didn’t catch you?”
I pulled my arm away from her, walking to the study.
“If you don’t sign the papers by tomorrow, I will file for divorce!”
