Chapter 6
In the days that followed, Alpha Vucevic rarely came by.
However, on the day I was discharged from the hospital, he arranged for his friend Eden to take me home.
Previously annoyed with Alpha Vucevic, Eden now acted as a peacemaker in front of
- me.
“Alpha Vucevic has been busy tracking down the kidnappers and thugs. Until he catches them, he won’t be at ease. He’s worried you might be in danger again.”
I silently looked out at the fleeting scenery outside the car window.

Is he worried about me… or about Violet?
“Ariel, to be honest, Alpha Vucevic genuinely cares for you. You stood by him during his hardest times, and his feelings for you are real. But there are things he has to do. Felix’s death still weighs heavily on him.”
Even though Felix had married his fated mate, he always remained loyal to him.
That tribal conflict was truly a lose–lose situation. Just as Alpha Vucevic had finally stabilized the situation, the enemy struck again.
At a critical moment, Felix shielded him and saved his life.
I understood this all too well.
I understand that Alpha Vucevic has his

responsibilities, but understanding doesn’t mean I can forgive him.
If he can’t provide even the most basic trust between mates, how am I supposed to give him my heart and walk this path with him?
“Eden, please help me investigate Violet in secret. Don’t tell Alpha Vucevic.”
If Violet could reveal my location to the culprits, there must have been some connection between them.
No matter how careful she was, she would inevitably leave some trace behind.
Eden pressed his lips together, hesitating before finally nodding in agreement.
Shortly after, he dropped me off at the villa and left.

More than half the space in the shoe rack was crammed with unfamiliar, slightly worn women’s shoes.
Alpha Vucevic’s shoes remained untouched, but my house slippers were nowhere to be
seen.
The sound of deliberate footsteps echoed nearby. I turned toward the noise and was stunned–Violet stood there.
“What are you doing in my house? Get out!”

I frowned, opened the door, and rudely asked her to leave without hesitation.
Violet, however, only sneered disdainfully.
“Didn’t Brother Vucevic tell you? He was worried about my safety and asked me to move in here. But even if he didn’t tell you, it doesn’t matter. After all, this is Brother Vucevic’s house. You have no authority here!”
With that, Violet strutted toward the master bedroom as if it were her own, her steps full of confidence and arrogance.
Without thinking, I dashed into the master bedroom after her, grabbed her by the hair, and dragged her back into the living room.
Violet screeched loudly in protest. Pregnant

she might be, but she was no match for me, freshly recovering or not.
I restrained my strength, careful not to harm the baby she was carrying.
Seemingly aware of the limits of my reluctance, Violet gritted her teeth and spat a venomous threat at me.
“Ariel, how dare you lay a hand on me? Just wait–when I tell Brother Vucevic, you won’t get away with this!”
My wolf, Elias, almost snarled aloud, his patience wearing thin. “She’s insufferable! Ariel, teach her a lesson! Don’t forget what a fierce person you used to be!”
