Chapter 5
“Did I force them? Why don’t you ask her where she sent my child?”
As I spoke, tears unexpectedly rolled down my cheeks, mixing with the blood on my lips.
Alpha Alexander paused at the sight of my breakdown, then quickly regained his composure.
His face showed no surprise, “Didn’t she just send the child to her tribe? Is it worth causing such a fuss over Aria?”
I was taken aback, surprised, “You knew?”
He nodded with an unnerving calm, “Children shouldn’t be too pampered. Sending them to a less comfortable tribe will help them build

character–it’s beneficial, not harmful.”
I couldn’t breathe for a moment.
Going to such a terrible tribe, and Alpha Alexander calls that a benefit?
I shuddered to think of my precious child in such a place, suffering who knows how much.
“Brother Alexander, my mom loves children. She’ll surely take good care of Sister Leona’s baby.”
Aria pouted, “I’m not in good health. Rather than letting the child suffer with me, I’d prefer if my mom could take good care of her.”
Her words seemed considerate of me and my daughter.

Alpha Alexander bought it, warning me with a displeased look:
“You’re my Luna. I’ve tolerated your little tantrums once or twice.
“As for others, whether they live or die back home is not my concern.”
I stopped abruptly, raising my head to meet his eyes in disbelief.
“Alpha Alexander, that’s our daughter!”
“I already said, Angelia is my only daughter”
His deep voice resonated in my ears.
I laughed out of sheer anger.
If he wanted to sever ties, so be it–I would

oblige.
My wolf, Daisy, strongly supported me, “That’s right. A man like this isn’t worth it. You should’ve realized this long ago!”
But before anything else, I needed to find my daughter.
Alpha Alexander seemed confident I wouldn’t succeed and didn’t stop me from leaving the
room.
But he underestimated a mother’s strength.
Following the scent he left in this Pack, I quickly located the shelter he had arranged for Aria.
Following my memory of the area, I headed over and ran right into Sandy, cradling a baby as she rushed out.

Sandy was Aria’s mother and had caused a scene at my wedding. Even after all these years, I recognized her instantly.
“Sandy, where are you taking my daughter?”
Hearing my voice, her smile froze, and she awkwardly clutched the child tighter, breaking into a run.
But I was agile and quickly caught up to her.
“Give me back my child!”
Sandy feigned ignorance, glaring at me defiantly, “What child? That’s my daughter’s grandson.”
“I have a paternity test proving this child is mine. Are you sure she’s your grandson?”

I bluffed, closing in on her.
“That’s a load of nonsense.”
Sandy held the child tighter, spitting in my direction.
I didn’t waste words, immediately grabbing for the child.
Sandy had the strength of someone used to farm work, freeing one hand to pinch and twist me fiercely. I gritted my teeth, refusing to let go.
Soon, the child was safely in my arms. Her face was just like mine at her age. Even when disturbed, she didn’t cry, she just looked at me with her large, watery eyes.
I almost broke into tears. I had been so close
to losing my treasure.
