Chapter 6
Sandy wailed, clinging to my arm as she shouted.
Her loud cries drew a large crowd, but they quickly recognized me as Luna of Alpha Alexander, the Luna of this Pack.
I turned my body slightly to protect the child from Sandy.
“Who is trying to take your child? This is my daughter! I order you to let go at once, or else I’ll take action!”
Sandy was relentless, her sly eyes narrowing to slits, tears streaming down her face.
“Everyone, look! Her own daughter is in the hospital desperately in need of blood, and to

save her child, she’s stolen my grandson for a transfusion. How pitiful my little grandson is, so small and treated so cruelly. If anything happens to him, how are we supposed to live?”
The crowd’s gaze toward me shifted immediately upon hearing her words.
Doubt, anger, accusation…
“Luna, how could you do such a thing?”
“Yes, give the child back! Your and Alpha’s powerful genes will surely save your daughter.”
In that moment, my reputation and authority began to crumble, yet I was powerless to explain.
My wolf, Daisy, shook her head in sorrow and

frustration, “Why, why don’t they believe us…”
In the next second, I caught sight of Alpha Alexander in the corner of my eye.
“Alpha Alexander, help me!”
As long as he spoke up to clear this mess, they’d surely believe him!
I called out to him for help, hope rekindling inside me.
Perhaps he would help me for the sake of our marriage.
At the very least, this is his daughter too–he wouldn’t just stand by.
Thank goodness, Alpha Alexander did look at me and started to walk over.

But Aria came along with him.
“Mom, mom, what’s going on here?”
Sandy cried even louder upon hearing her daughter’s voice.
“Finally, my daughter, you’re here. She’s taken my grandson! You and Alpha Alexander came just in time. Don’t let her get away!”
Sandy and Aria exchanged a glance and a smug look passed between them.
“Alpha Alexander, you tell us, does this child belong to her?”
In front of everyone, I looked at Alpha Alexander and asked.
He scanned the room, his gaze briefly resting on the baby in my arms before shifting away

after a couple of seconds.
“Leona, don’t be ridiculous, give the child back. Our daughter is in the hospital.”
His words struck my mind like a thunderclap.
He stepped forward to take the baby, but my hands clung tightly, trembling, unable to form words.
So this is what heartache feels like.
“Let go, Leona, come home with me.”
I watched helplessly as he pried my fingers away, the child about to slip from my grasp, when my parents arrived just in time.
Behind them were tribal members, confident and untamed.

Seeing them, Alpha Alexander instinctively frowned and stepped back.
“Dad! Mom!”
I hurriedly retreated behind them with the baby, tears I’d held back finally spilling over.
Father squeezed my hand, whispering comfort, “Don’t cry, sweet daughter. I’ll protect you and the baby!”
I hadn’t cried when I was wronged.
I hadn’t cried when Alpha Alexander sided with strangers instead of me.
But hearing “I’ll protect you and the baby,” broke my restraint, and I nodded through sobs.
Alpha Alexander looked at me in disbelief.

“You–you’re not an orphan?”
My mother scoffed, “Who told you that our precious Leona was an orphan? We didn’t agree when she insisted on marrying you. Then she left us just to be with you, and this is how you treat her? It’s downright shameful!”
My tone turned firm.
“Alpha Alexander, now that my parents are here, if you force me, you’ll regret it!”
Alpha Alexander glanced between me and my parents, quickly recovering from his shock, his expression once again dismissive.
“So what if your parents are here? A couple of elderly people, what could they possibly do against a powerful Alpha like me?”

Father’s face darkened immediately, “Whether we can or not, go ahead and see”
As he spoke, he straightened his arm, displaying a firm fist.
The people behind him assumed combat stances, the air around us seeming to freeze.
Alpha Alexander hesitated, perhaps not wanting to escalate the situation, and suddenly suggested we find a private place to talk.
I thought it over and agreed.
In the quiet of a café, I demanded strict punishment for Aria and her mother.
Alpha Alexander glanced at me, unfazed.
