Chapter 5
As soon as I stepped out of the airport, I spotted him standing out from the crowd- Bravado.
Though we hadn’t seen each other in years, I knew instantly it was him.
Our eyes met, and without hesitation, he pulled me into his embrace.
“Rona, you finally made it! Come, let’s go home.”
A familiar scent, uniquely Bravado’s, filled my nose, and I felt an unexpected urge to cry.
“Bravado, I don’t have a home anymore.”
He had heard the brief version of my story

from Granny, and his heart ached as he gently ruffled my hair.
“It’s okay, no one will hurt you here.”
“Rona,” he asked, his voice sincere, “would you consider joining our pack and becoming my assistant?”
I nodded, my heart swelling. “Yes, I’ll do it.”
And so, I followed him into the car, headed for the Moonlit Alpha’s castle.
Along the way, he chattered excitedly about how Granny Sara had been desperate to see
- me.
“Anyway, you don’t have to worry here. We’ve got your back, no need to be scared.”
His words moved me to the core, and my

eyes brimmed with tears as I watched his smile.
Bravado’s parents were on vacation, leaving just the three of us at home, and the atmosphere felt oddly peaceful.
That evening, they even prepared a lavish plate of French foie gras just for me.
“We asked the housekeeper to make this. Come, try it.”
The rich taste of foie gras exploded in my mouth as I pretended to sip my soup, forcing the tears back down.
After two days of rest, I followed Bravado to the pack’s office.

things with ease.
But just as I thought everything was going back to normal, Theo and Alpha Sabastian came back into the picture.
“Rona, you think you’re all grown up now? Who gave your the right to delete us?”
I sneered.
I ignored them and continued with my work.
But that night, Theo called me from a burner phone.
“Where have you been? The house is a mess because of you!”
Theo attacked me with his words. “Is it because Jade and Alpha Sabastian are getting married? You can’t get over Alpha

Sabastian, can you?”
I bit my lip, unfazed, and shot back,
“Why does it matter to you? I’m not the White pack’s daughter. I don’t owe you any explanations!”
“Theo, we’re done. Don’t come looking for me again!”
I thought that would make him angry, but to my surprise, he misunderstood, thinking I was playing hard to get.
“Fine then, don’t come back! This is all your doing!”
“I’ll be watching to see where you go!”
Unable to stand it, I blocked him.

But Alpha Sabastian wasn’t done.
His tone was soft, but the words cut deeper than Theo’s.
“Rona, I know you must’ve left because you couldn’t handle it. But now you’re just walking away completely? Your father Alpha Lewis White is going crazy.“”
“You may pretend not to care, but a little conscience wouldn’t hurt, right?”
If I had no conscience, I would have confronted them long ago, not allowed them to walk all over me.
Now, just when I thought I’d escaped, they were back, trying to guilt–trip me.
“Alpha Sabastian, you liar! What right do you have to lecture me about conscience?

Wasn’t it you who stole Bravado’s spotlight, pretending to be my savior?”
“I regret knowing you the most. You disgust me more than anyone else!”
Before I could catch my breath, Alpha Sabastian hung up in a panic, his carefully guarded secret now exposed.
If I were him, I wouldn’t have the courage to face me either.
Just as I was about to relax, Bravado walked in.
“I heard you were on the phone. Were they bothering you again?”
I nodded, then shook my head.
“It’s fine, I can’t always rely on you to fix

everything. Look at me now, I’m fine, right?”
He seemed relieved, noticing I was truly okay.
Then, Bravado led me into his room with a mysterious glint in his eyes.
“I’ve got something fun I want to try. Want to play a game?”
His expectant expression made me smile. “Sure, what game?”
“It’s Truth or Dare. Let’s play!”
He pulled out a bottle of wine and a pile of papers, placing them on the table.
We sat on the couch, our heads leaning together as we began the game.

“Truth or dare?”
“Truth!”
“What’s your biggest fear?”
I thought for a moment, then smiled. “I fear being ignored.”
He nodded, then turned to face me. “Alright, now it’s my turn. Truth or dare?”
We took turns asking questions, and the mood grew lighter, with laughter filling the air.
But when it was his turn for a dare, he picked up the bottle, grinning. “You have to kiss me.“”
The challenge caught me off guard, my heart racing.

“Forget it, let’s do something else!” I quickly declined.
He chuckled, “Don’t be shy, make a bold decision, be brave!”
As the game continued, I found myself relaxing, the worries of the past few days disappearing in this moment.
“Thank you, Bravado. I feel so much better.”
He said nothing but gently ruffled my hair, his touch warm and comforting.
