The days that followed returned to normalcy.
Ethan never came looking for me again, starting to frequently appear in the news, traveling all over the world.
Nathan and I maintained a delicate relationship, neither daring to break the balance between us.
But an accident still happened.
On New Year’s Eve, I was kidnapped.
I never imagined that the kidnapper would be Ethan.
In the last second before my phone was taken away, I sent my real–time location to
Nathan.
Ethan looked worse than before.
Afraid I would run away, he gave me a special anesthetic that kept me conscious but unable to move.
The man in front of me had an unusual persistence flickering in his eyes, the corners of his mouth curled into a morbidly charming smile, his deep voice echoing in the air.
“Ava, I thought as long as I kept busy, I wouldn’t think of you anymore, but I can’t do it, Ava.”
“Ava… will you kiss me? Can we pretend nothing happened?”
“Ava… Ava, I really want to hide you away. I just want you to have only me in your heart. What is Nathan Cole? He’s not worthy of competing with me for you!”
Ethan was going mad, the madness in his heart suppressed to the point of near distortion.
Even if no one else understood him, he had to take his Ava back!

Ethan gently caressed my face, his gaze moving from my eyes to my rosy lips.
He suddenly kissed me. The more I struggled, the harder he pressed, a metallic taste quickly spreading in my mouth.
Gradually, I stopped moving, allowing Ethan to take what he wanted.
After a long while, he let go of me, rubbing the blood from the bite on my lip with his thumb.
“Ava, don’t be like this. Smile for me, okay?”
The wind blew through the curtains, also brushing across his slightly disheveled face.
The sound of police sirens rang out in the distance, and suddenly the door was broken
open.
Ethan quickly hugged me and moved to the window, ready to be desperate lovers on the
run.
“Let her go, Ethan Foster! You’ve completely lost your mind!”
Nathan was truly angry this time.
Dozens of cold, black gun barrels were aimed at Ethan’s chest, ready to fire at any moment.

Ethan bit my ear and sighed.
“Ava, isn’t it good to live our two–person world? Why do you have to break this beautiful dream?”
I sneered: “Ethan Foster, dreams are all fake. It’s not too late to turn back now.”
Ethan laughed recklessly.
“Too bad, I can’t do that.”
He suddenly let go of me and jumped down from the building without hesitation.

The building was only three stories high, but Ethan suffered severe head trauma and
became a vegetative patient.
This result was not what I wanted.
But Ethan chose his own path, and he didn’t regret it.
As Ethan lay in a coma, he seemed to return to the comic world.
Back to the day of my 18th birthday, he couldn’t control himself in the comic, only able to
watch himself continue to hurt me while conscious.
Then losing me again and again, endlessly repeating the cycle.
He was in pain, but also addicted to this beautiful nightmare, unable to extricate
himself…
