I ignored it, slept a bit more, then got up, washed up, and went to open the studio door.
But I didn’t expect Ethan to be so thick–skinned, directly blocking the studio entrance.
Except for his dark eye circles being a bit heavier, he didn’t look drunk at all.
“Ava, why did you block me?”
“Mr. Foster, please respect yourself. You’re such a good actor, but I’m not hiring actors
here.”
Ethan blocked my way, quickly taking out a large bouquet of red roses tied with black ribbon from the passenger seat.
Unfortunately, I don’t like things that are too passionate.
“Ava, come back and live with me, okay?”
I effortlessly broke free from him, not wanting any more entanglement.
Ethan dropped the flowers in his hand, trying to hug me from behind.
The moment he grabbed my arm, I accidentally fell into an embrace filled with the scent of jasmine.
“Ethan Foster, Ava is not interested in you. Pestering her is not your style.”
Nathan Cole’s refreshing voice came from above my head, and my long–dormant heart began to take root and sprout.

“What’s it got to do with you?” Ethan retorted, unwilling to back down.
Nathan showed a bright, smug smile: “Just because Ava and I have a childhood engagement, I have more right than you!”
Ethan sneered: “Nathan Cole, what does a childhood engagement count for?”
“I raised Ava. She can only belong to me!”
Nathan’s carefree smile faded, showing signs of anger.
“Where were you when Ava was kidnapped? What were you doing when she was most helpless? And what was your attitude when she developed anxiety disorder?”
Ethan was momentarily speechless.
Those memories buried in the dust kept stimulating my nerves.
I seemed to really not remember how I got through that period of being kidnapped.
So much so that when the car was halfway there, I only then realized I had somehow gotten into Nathan’s car.
The setting sun shone through Nathan’s spirited profile, intertwining and overlapping with the profile of the person who rescued me from the warehouse.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Fallen for me?”
“Why aren’t you talking, stunned?”

Mango crepe cake… It used to be my favorite, but I haven’t had it in a long time.
For some reason, I said “okay“.
When it was our turn in the queue, I didn’t notice the step under my feet until the sharp pain stimulated my nerves, and I realized I had wwisted my ankla

pain stimulated my nerves, and I realized I had twisted my ankle.
Tears of physical pain uncontrollably filled my eyes.
Nathan’s brows furrowed into a knot as he helped me stand up.
“Does it hurt badly?”
I shook my head: “It’s okay.”
Actually, it hurt like hell.
“So stubborn, just like when you were little.”
When I was little? How would he know what I was like when I was little?
He let me hold the cake box while Nathan effortlessly picked me up and walked towards
the parking lot.
The faint scent of jasmine from the man’s embrace attracted me to unconsciously lean
on his shoulder like gravity.
Nathan put me in the passenger seat and took out a first aid kit from the trunk, very seriously applying medicine for me.
I instinctively wanted to cry out in pain, but my attention was suddenly drawn to a small teddy bear in the first aid kit.
The brown teddy bear looked a bit old, worn but very clean.
I clearly remembered that I used to have one exactly the same.
But after I was kidnapped, it was lost.
I picked up the teddy bear to examine it closely and found that it was missing a tuft of fur
behind its ear.
If I remember correctly, that tuft of fur was accidentally pulled off when I was extremely frightened during the kidnapping.
